Shirish, I use an F-word to your Bo-Sux team all the time. How is it "unsportsman like" if I say it to someone I ain't even competing with myself (and who plays a whole different animal)? Maybe you should stick to playing board-games as you've apparantly screwed the whole meaning behind the word.
And yeah, all you fair weather Bean-Town fans, where da fugck were you guys when Boston was 24-58 last year? Last year during every friggin game, Pierce and the Celts were being booed to no avail. And now we have a band-wagon ala the Pied Piper of Hamilton's proportions taking place here?? hahahaa Keep proving your stance of being stauch hypocrites and showing off that low sportsmanship morale. No wonder, Beaners are losers and always will be!!
The way the lakers played last night's game, has to be the most disastrous performance ever by any team. Kobe was guarded well and physically by the larger Pierce and Doc Rivers has my utmost respect for figuring out how to cover this scoring machine, defanging and making the Black Mamba's bite lack any venom. Also the move to get Posey into the game and keeping him in, was applaudable. And where were the rest of the Lakers, I ask? C'mon, it was one superstar (Kobe), going against 3 good players of the Beaner's team. With Kobe unable to do his part, the rest of the Lakers too seemed helpless...Just goes on to prove how great the Black Mamba is as he's been the one to solely carry his team. He, IMO deserves as much a respect as a Magic or a Bird (someday in the future, Jordan status may follow...C'mon atleast Jordan had a Pippen and a Grant (later Rodman) on his side!!). Going into next year and looking at the free-agent pool for 2008, Kobe deserves someone like Ben Gordon (if he can get back to the shape he was in with the Pistons). That would be exactly what the Lakers need to win the 2009 title.
Also, witnessing Kobe's intensity to be the Best ever and his competitiveness for the past few years, I wonder if he gave Sasha Vujacic the same treatment in the locker-room that Jordan once gave Kerr for not making an easy play: A big fat black-eye! That Vujacic cat deserves it real bad!!
However, all hope is not lost...I still believe! If I could see Hillary Clinton being beat to the ground, anything is possible in this day and age! Lets not get way outta hand before the Fat Lady sings!! Go Lakerzzzz!

I always said if the Celtics bench performs, Lakers have no chance.
Kudos to Posey and House. They wanted to hang on and compete but won.
Down 24 points...no problem.
Black mamba...no problem.
Zen master...no problem.

There is no doubt that the Celtics are the NBA 2007-08 champians. I underestimated the Celtics before. Paul Pierce has played this type of game before in Eastern conference finals few years back to upset the leading team the NETS. Even if they lose the next game 5, they will celebrate the champianship at home in game 6. Paul Pierce is final MVP.

There was no doubt in my mind that LA Lakers was the dominant team this year in NBA. Watching last night's game, espically 3rd quarter, I am ashamed to call myself a Lakers fan. How in the world, a team like Lakers blow their 24 points lead in the second half after playing such an impressive first half? After last night's game, I am convinced that Celtics deserve this year's champion ring. Go CELTICS, finish it up in LA LA Land.

Laker fans still complaining about the referee's? So what is your reason Celtics won this time? You said Lakers almost pulled up the biggest comeback in game 2, "oh snap" "Celtics just pulled off the biggest comeback in Game 4" I find it funny how people said we booed Paul Pierce and the Celtics last year. You either have never been to a Celtic game in the garden or never been to North End on game day or just maybe you are confusing Celtic fans with Laker fans who booed at Kobe in the season opener. Paul Pierce has always been a hero in the eyes of Celtics fans. Even in the toughest time he never ever openly asked for a trade. By the way last season he was out most of the season due to surgery so not sure how could we have ever booed him. Even when we lost 18 in a row last year after Tony Allen and Paul Pierce went down, fans still gave Kudos to the players for the effort becoz each and everyone of them played really hard. The fans knew our team was really bad but we didn't crumble like the Knicks or the Heat where players started pointing fingers. The only one people really talked bad about was Danny Ainge because of his trade decisions. I think people outside of Boston get that perception of fans because Analyst were talking trash about Boston last year when we only won 24 games. They assume just because analyst are talking bad the fans must hate the Celtics. Please and I am really saying please don't comment on the "love of Boston fans for their teams". We have been written off on the Sports Analyst for years which people often mistake as fans not having passion for our sports teams. If you lived in Boston, gone to any sports bars or arena you will know the Boston fans have always stuck with their team through thick and thin. Now is our time so don't disgrace us by calling us bandwagon fans (like idiot Bibby, who had only played for the Kings which is a fairly new franchise and doesn't have history like the Celtics). Just because you started seeing more of Boston teams on National TV after they got better doesn't mean the Boston fans just started following it......

all points noted. i am sure similar thoughts are echoing all over the web. lakers have indeed lost most supporters. no doubt they're a great team but not great enough to win the NBA. when you play like last night, you're kind of done and that too on the home court. it was mentioned how they nearly staged a comeback in game 2. hell yeah, celtics surely knows how to do it. for another history to be made, they need to win the next 3. not impossible but very unlikely. the series has to end @ staples so that a lesson is learned (by the lakers).

Great insight !!
Last night's game was very damaging to the Lakers organization as well as Phil Jackson.
Hoping that there will be no game 6.

Bean Town residents- be prepared for the champianship parade after more than 20 years for the Celtics. Wow, again, I say that I can't believe Paul P actually having the champianship ring.
Those who are complaining- The Celtics played outstanding defense last night and the lakers can't play the champianship level defense. That's what happned last night.

Few questions..
1. Is Doc Rivers outcoaching great Phil Jackson ?
2. Can Kobe rise to the occasion like Jordan did and be a clutch player ?
3. Why did Lakers cancel practice on Friday ? What will the psychological effect on players ?
4. Should Phil Jackson have asked Tafoya, "What do you think ?"
5. Will Pierce guard Kobe again ?
6. Garnett, Garnett, Garnett ???

Sirish:
Here are my answers:
1. Is Doc Rivers outcoaching great Phil Jackson ? No, but Doc has the best assistant coach, a defensive genius (Tim Thibedou), who used to be in Houston with Van Gundy....
2. Can Kobe rise to the occasion like Jordan did and be a clutch player ? Yes, he better...
3. Why did Lakers cancel practice on Friday ? What will the psychological effect on players ? No...mental rest..to forget the choke job of the century....
4. Should Phil Jackson have asked Tafoya, "What do you think ?" It seems to me Phil is flirting with Tafoya...
5. Will Pierce guard Kobe again ? Yes, if he is not in foul trouble
6. Garnett, Garnett, Garnett ??? 15-10 tonite...We need Gasol to exceed Garnett's points/rebounds to beat the Celts

shirish broda i tottally agree with ya . Phille is highly over rated coac. With micheal then Shaq and Kobe I think Van gundy would be weighing his nine fingers . With world class player like kobe Phille couldnt even make playoffs after Shaq departed . I dont have any respect for Phille and kobe .
Magic always said time and time again its Kareems team when he played for LA LA land . Kobe always have difficulty to say that .
Recipie for todays championship team
One superstar player, two allstar caliber player, two veterans, one great one on one defender and spot on shooter, two energetic rookies or sophomore. Defensive Mentality assistant coach and The coach who earns respects not demand.
Shirish Broda thx for letting my feelings to be expressed . Go Celtics

Few more questions...
1. Will the Lakers change current line up ?
2. How will the Lakers break the defensive plays of Celtics ? How have they adjusted ?
3. Who will emerge, in possibly the last game of the finals, among Celtics players ?
4. Can Kobe (who is compared with Jordan) bear the load and be a clutch player and win ?
5. Whose side refrees will take ? Wink Wink...
6. Is Perkins playing ?
7. How is Rondo's ankle ?
8. Will Ray Allen be able to overtake Pierce and become the MVP ?
Probably for the last time this season:
Go Celtics Go: Beat Lakers in LA.
