ss74k, from my perspective your point is valid. One cannot work in gas station and focus on study. yes, that is the plight of 90% of nepalese students here in US. rest 10% are lucky who have full ride to good and nice schools. but there are exceptions everywhere hoina ta (O: i am sure 90% of those ppl would be better person than those 10% because they have gone through all the shits of life. They would be able to handle ups and down of life better than those 10% who could be victim of depression on slightest hurdles of life. ==================================================== just my thts. what else do i know (O: hoina ta

Dirtyminded, The ist of ppl you gave me, non of them are CEOs. You were claming like you know the fortune 500 ceos who are from Nepal and have undergrad degree and who can't spell or add basic stuff. Where are those ppl, kindly enlighten me. Cornell,Harvard, UCLA, hahaha yeah right, you think they can work in a gastation and offord those universities? Probally offord to buy a post card. I have never said that it is a bad idea to come over here. Of course, hard work , networking, and doing right thing at a right times is very fruitful in the USA. If your brother is getting scholorship on Harvard, UCLA or even to a community college where he does not have to work too much and can focus his studies then it is a very wise idea. here : Priya Sharma - Grad. of Cornell currently works for intel inside. She is not a CEO; but she is in a high level. Ramesh Karki - Grad. of NYU Works for UN.(ny) Dont know his level but he makes a lots of money Umesh Uppreti - Grad. of RICE Works for some oil company, is the director of that branch Bupil Raj Adhikari - Grad. of Uni. of Colorodo - Hotel managment - lots of money!!! Which one of them are the CEO? Here add one more on your list. " lots of money "does not mean CEO. And just because some of them are making " lots of money " does not justify their struggle or thier luck behind thier " lots of money " , my friend. Who knows if they were super taleneted, super lucky , or even had a super rich grand parents. Dirtymined, I am not trying to brainwash you here. I am giving you a very realistic image of undergrad life here in the usa, with no good scholorship or good funding. It is very hard and no point to go through misery when same degree can be earned from India. They can come here for masters, with teaching assistanceship or reasearch assistanceship. That way they do not have to worry about funding and can focus on thier course work. Not only that but they can get jobs most faster. Why suffer and risk career, life , money when better can be achieved with just a reasonable decision. Thapap ji, yes I already have a job but I would like to explore my options and maybe get hired by one of the Nepali CEOs from the east. are you one of them by any chance? hehe

All you good people are bullshitting so I have to intervene. Here are my thoughts, see if people can agree on this If your smart, and focussed and dedicated, try for scholarship in a good university in the US or else go to India for Bachelors. Most probably these people will opt for engineering if they went to India. Come for Masters in the US. If you are a risk taker, decently intelligent (like an IQ of 120-140), want to have some fun, do lots of things at the same time, then come to the US for Bachelors. You have to be outgoing and a risktaker otherwise you will probably return back after a couple of semesters. If your papa has lots of money then come to the US for Bachelors as your papa needs a channel to redirect his money If you think that studying bachelors in the US can gurantee you a job then you're damn wrong. Even small consulting companies ask for a masters degree now a days. You might get lucky though If you've struggled through college to get a B average, then you can still get a job provided that you know someone as Thapap mentioned. I don't believe in the steryotype that American High School Students are dumb. As this kid in my college who used to score the highest points in Calculus 3 class happened to be a high school senior taking college classes. Simply put forward, they don't need to work as hard as Asians do to make things happen so they don't!! ### what do i know (O: ### You know a lot dude. I can tell that from your reasoning :o)

aman, as far as I know coming to US, immediately after SLC on F1 (STUDENT VISA) NOW IS IMPOSSIBLE. YOU NEED TO DEMONSTRATE YOU HAVE MONEY TO COVER ALL THE COST. Admission has to be in PRIVATE SCHOOL. PUBIC SCHOOLS cannot SPONSOR or issue F1 at all. you can visit http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html and find more information Now, if you are legal immigrant (i.e. with Green Card) just come here and get enrolled (O: ; where ever you want. ==================================================== as always what do I know (O:

I cannot even sponsor myself. LLC is there to protect myself from liability for some consulting that i perform[when i am blessed]. ==================================================== as always what do i know (O:

I was in EE. Now I'm in software. Google's stocks are doing great and when I used to play chess, the opening move depended on how strong the opponent was. I would start with sneaky opening moves and see if those worked. (Loved finishing the game in just a few moves) :o) Else my moves would be spontaneous.
