I can guess how much frustration you had gone through without job even after completion of bachelors and masters. good decision to go back but you made us nervous about the tough situation to get job in US.

Good decision to go back home. But I feel like there is still something you haven't achieved. May be try internship or something related to your degree just for few months or a year before finally returning back. See how is the work culture here after all you are going for a managerial position in Nepal. All you have now is gas station clerk and restaurant waiter experience after staying in this dream land for 9 years.

The first half of your story is reflective of most Nepalese students who come to US for a chance to live the same old American dream, but the the second half, where you decide to return back to Nepal, reflects only a handful of students who return back to their home country with their education. It takes courage, dedication and love for the home country to return back to Nepal. In your case, an earthquake.
But whatever the case, I wish you nothing but the best. Thank you for sharing your story.
