Share the documentary series you intend on seeing or have seen? I am looking forward to  this one, esp because of Noam Chomsky.

I agree with Chaurey. That's what I posted earlier in this thread but it doesn't show up.

Just having an narrator with Morgan-Freeman-Esque voice and saying frequently "WHAT IF..." just doesn't cut it for me. Where is the overwhelming evidence? As Carl Sagan famously said "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"

one of the many great NOVA documentaries  on PBS.org

NOVA examines how a simple instrument, the telescope, has fundamentally changed our understanding of our place in the universe. This tale of human ingenuity involves some of the most colorful figures of the scientific world Galileo, Kepler, Newton, William Herschel, George Hale and Edwin Hubble leading up to todays colossal telescopes.

Now, at the center of an international space race, a new generation of ever-larger telescopes is poised to reveal answers to longstanding questions about our universe and, in turn, to raise new questions.

(!!Accidentally deleted this video entry!!....but it is worth infinite re-posting IMO)

pale blue dot:.best of the best, nobody could have said it any better or made it any clearer....the greatest  ever Carl Sagan!!

The famous “pale blue dot” photo, the picture  that appears in the beginning of the video, is planet Earth as seen from Voyager 1 while on the edge of our solar system (approximately 3,762,136,324 miles from home). Before losing Voyager 1 forever to the vast emptyness of space, scientists sent out one last signal to the space craft  to take a picture of the Earth from that distance.

Sagan’s words are always worth remembering.
