Need for a PRO- Pahadiya  political force ?

 

We all have been following the recent political development in the country and no matter what I am getting frustrated day by day.  And recent election of Vice-president is kind of a last drop.

 

What I am proposing and working towards is a kind of Pro- Pahadiyas political force. Now its been crystal clear that so called “ national parties “ are incapable of protecting our interests , and not only that they are even afraid to raise the voice.

 

 

So I would like to put some questions here for the discussion.

 

Do we need a pro-pahadiya political force?

 

What kind of force ? A political party? A  pressure group?    A secret lobby group? A secret intellectual think tank?

 

Do you  think that a equally strong but opposite political force to neutralise the “Madhesikaran” , will be necessary? Good for country?

 

Will such political force be viable in the long term and be effective , without any foriegn support? What are the possibilites or non-possiblities?

 

Would you financially support these kind of forces ?

I think your suggestion of Pro-Pahade group is very justifiable because you are right in saying that no one will fight for the rights of those Pahade in terai as you can see from the comments you get from all these people...... They don't know a thing that is happening there yet they come here to paint a rosy picture of everything and not do anything...... Don't let these people stop you from your goal and don't even think twice about justifying what you are starting to these people....... They will never know for all they can do is talk and nothing else......

Rewire you are right in looking to the north........ But for that we need multiple people and multiple ideas...... thats what I think this think tank and organization should help develop....... Along with that, we Nepali from abroad  need to do our part like help build roads, make our people educated among other things in our part....... We the educated one can approach China, France, Britain, among other developed countries to pour money into such ideas to help build that foundation...... We need to start somewhere why not from here....... As far as relying on India is concerned we need to slowly move along self sufficiency line slowly....... We will get to that point if we start somewhere.....

Nepali Hero  1, I understand your frustration and zeal but please refrain from badmouthing.

I have started this discussion to hear and read the different views, and therefore I respect all kinds of views posted here.

Let me clearify few things, I am here not to recruit anyone or convince anyone to join the group. The group is closed one with only a few of closely knitted people, most of them in Nepal in various profession( non-political) and few of us in the foriegn countries. The only thing that bounds us is the strong urge to do something to stop the "madhesikaran" of our country. Right now the group exist only as a think tank but we have a small yet effective resource to go ahead. Initially our goal is to create a kind of environment in Nepal where people can speak freely for Pro-pahadiya views , as they are doing with the pro-madhesh view. And secondly we will try to influence the constitution making in such a way to minimise the madhesi-effect as much as possible.  

Believe me or not the pro-madhesi power is very very powerful in Nepal and pro-pahadiyas views are still in the dark and silent.  When was the last time you have ever read any article concerning pro-pahadiyas views in the main stream nepali press. and you dont have to go far to find a lots of article by Prashant Jha and CK lal with the hidden threat , they are every where in Nepal and Nepali press. Imagine if there were few strong voices which could have insisted that either one of Prez and VP should be non-madhesi , then we probably would have VP who would not despise Nepali Language.

Pro-Pahadiya is a view and principle , and if the name is the only thing that is bothering you then give it another one. Pro-Pahadiya doesnot mean Anti-anything. Not anti madhesh nor Anti-India. It simply suggest that we will have our influence in the such a way to neutralise the pro-madhesh or pro-anything else.

Remember guys , Next few years will be very crucial in the history of our country and this is the time where we all should work to influence for what kind of country we want. Do something now so you dont have to go to discussion forums to shed your frustrations. In the next few years we are going to have a new constitution and its going to be a blue print for the nation building. Guys do what ever you can to influence this process , and that is what our group is going to do.

 Its easy to badmouth in the discussion forum where you are protected by anonymity. but its totally different thing to work for change.  I can see that most of you dont like VP taking oath in Hindi, Others dont like clothes of President, but  all these are minor things. If you dont like work to change the situation.

this is what happened and is scary. yes nobody said anything about non-madhesi vp or p ehn MJF announced their candidate of vp. as i said, name can be changed.

also, u don't need millions to bring change. u need strong willed persons with a vision. i believe i am one of them.

What Unicornis brother said is correct also we need a very strong willed person to make changes and I have come across very few in Sajha...... We don't have any group that lobbies for Nepal and Nepalese so we should definitely have that and we should start somewhere.......

nless our reliance on India for the basic necessities can be substituted with an alternative, I'll say DREAM ON. Madhesi know this and that is why they're so BALLSY. Cursed with the treacherous terrain, our only hope will be China. If we can get food and fuel from China, then we have something to start with. Other than that, I don't see how you can defeat the Madhesi.
Look towards the North, learn Chinease and make your moves. That's all we can do right now.

i dunno why we nepalese curse our geography as it has helped us in plentiful ways. i also understand that our mountains are not suitable for tunnels, railways tracks etc but they have a crtical role in identiying Nepal and bring dollars.

one of my committee member is a chinese and we have become good friends over the years. china is trying to plant railway tracks but India is against it. see this is why we think we have to rely on India for everything. India has brain washed us for generations that salt can be only imported from them - nowhere else.

I thought I was the most liberal and open minded person.. But once failed to find any valid reason - why Jha took oath in Hindi for veep post.. I also feel what Rai has raised in this thread is not unnatural..

However, I am not for some communal group specific to pahade or madhesi.. Instead something like 'pro-nepali' would be good. Possibly, there must be done something to neutralise this unnecessary indian-influence in nepali politics and society , which is posing a serious threat to country's integrity, sovereignty and our self-respect.

That is exactly what I am saying Unicornis brother....... Everyone thinks that and also thinks there is no way around it....... As far as salt it concerned I have been reading up on Brine water in Narsinghe Khola in Mustang district..... If we utilize our resource we can bring salt from there and supply it to all over Nepal...... Man there is also lot more resources in our Pahad that is hidden that we just don't have any know how to exploit it........

I don't know about NRN because they came into existence for a while now and I haven't heard anything significant about them beside some here and there stuff........ I think Mahabir Pun dai has done more for his village than these so called NRN's......

Brain Malfunction as much as you don't want these groups, they are there and they are here to stay no matter what.......

yes, u are right. our major rivers have some capacity to supply salts and we have chemists to make it. is just sodium sulfate.

i like the idea of Maddog also. lets form a group which will be a mixture of all fields from IT to political science.

I respect and appreciate your enthusiasm and selfless nationalism. AND yes I do believe many things are possible in our beloved country. and we have to do whatever we can to build the nation.

BUT

Current situation is different. I think we all should concentrate in making a fair constitution which is accepted by all and fair to all. According to my analysis , we are going to write a new constitution with a gun pointed on our head, and of course lots of foriegn interests. MPRF has only 10% of seat and about 7% of total votes and still they are getting everything they are  demanding . Believe me the demand is not going to stop anytime soon, on contrary it will simply gets bolder and bolder. Those of you who think Madhesi President and V-president is the zenith of Madhesis demand , should only wait and watch. They have already got 50% seats in all the gov institutions and they are not going to stop here.

What we should focus right now is to stop this madhesikaran, and only way to do it is to make some bold statements from established political powers. Our job should be to create this environment so they they can write and speak for our cause. There is a environment of threat and intimidation in the country , anyone speaking against Madhesis are quickly labeled as one inviting civil war. and any kind of statement is considered as a retalations against madhesis. Thats why nobody is saying anything , and this passivity is only empowering the pro-madhesh forces.

I actually seek some one bold enough to demand 50% seats and jobs for non-madhesis in Terai. Why should it be any difficult? If equal participations is Madhesis slogan why not 50% jobs for non-madhesis in Terai?

Nepal bro and other similar minded people - i think if we can send our message across oceans and to a neta who can stand-this will stir something. i am even ready to voice for Prachande/Baburam or any pahadi for PM.

i have to go to wrork now but keep on discussing.

What we are planning now is flooding the Nepali press with pro-pahadiyas views. We are working towards a full feature interview of one of the leader of Chure-Bhawar  to highlight why and under what circumstances they were forced to creat a new group. Of course they also voted for Pramananda but  would they have done same if they were a bit stronger political group?

 

I think what you all can do it go to Nepali times website and take part in discussion there.  It is read by influential circle in Nepal and they have to feel that there actually is a broader support for pro-pahadiyas views across all the Nepalese circle and hopefully that will make  people supporting our view to come forward in national scene. Pro-pahadiyas views are like sin in nepal , but we have to work towards making it into a main stream.

Well it seems like we are many on the same level of thinking and support  the ideas of  neutralising Madhesikaran of our country. I have now created a google group for discussion, from where we can brainstrom and creat  influence for our cause.
