After my lunch today, I accepted the invitation of my warm bed to have a nap. Since I had a good sleep last night, lassitude was not there and the empty mind started to browse the memorable old days. After a long time, I dredged up my school days; those days when we didn’t even know what life meant, yet we enjoyed the most. When friends were our sole inspiration; when we would plan of days to come and giggle about it; when we would gobble our lunch in class time; when we were cute enough to bully our teachers; when we got to eat a daal, bhat and tarkari everyday!

“After finishing our studies, we will clean the Bagmati, Okay?” I proposed to my group of six as computer sir was late again. “Um, it’s hard to imagine.. who will be where in future.” We couldn’t help imagining our future.

â€œI will be a lawyer”, I was confident about my career. “okay okay. So, you are going to handle all the court stuffs then.” I could sense the zeal Pratik had.

“Well, we can talk whatever we want at the moment. But we don’t know where we will be in future. May be..we won’t even have time to talk to each other, who knows..”, we didn’t really cared what Jivan said, after all no one could stop us from dreaming!

Our talks ranged from a ‘responsible Nepalese citizen-like’ to absolute ‘non-veggies’. Sudha was the queen, at least in those computer classes, and yea for her famous song “Ayh Shangita!” Rakchya, awe! Who could forget her.

â€œHa ha ha…”, everyone started cracking up. I stood like an African boy at Bhaktapur attending Girija Prasad Koirala’s speech, when everybody starts to clap all of a sudden and you’d clap along with them. “What happened actually?” there was no limit of embarrassment within me. “haha, you won’t understand!”, Pratik giggled.

All the sudden, a telephone ring paused my memory-lane walk. I didn’t even bother to pick the phone as those mesmerizing moments got me carried away for a while. I turned the side and started to analyze the life: now and then. How playful, carefree were those days! Even though I had handful of friends, there was a strong bond between us. Today I am in a crowd of hundred, yet alone, lost, prolly minding my own business…

“Gosh! This guy always has cold hand. Let me warm your hand.” Sangam, no less than my own sibling, would swathe my hands with his warm ones; that warm feeling, aww how much I miss him!

“Do we need to con all those word-meaning this time too? Hey, did you finish the “Saprasanga bhyakhya”, Nepali sir had given?” I used to worry about each and every home-work. Bipin Sir’s Nepali classes were much of a fun too; not just because there were many stories in the book, but also because we ate our tiffin under the desk in his period.

“This girl is especially very conscious about her looks.” I saw in Sudha’s hi5 the other day. No, this girl’s never gonna change. “What do you use to wash your face?”, Rakchya enquired. “Soap”, Sudha, as simple as always.

“Soap?? so witty, I use face-wash,” Rakchya chuckled.

Those samosa, as cheap as Rs.2 each, with its great taste; those new year celebrations; when I’d always doze off at Sankar Sir’s class just after lunch; when ‘thumbs up’ would represent Thesarus~ Shift+F7; when Sudha, Pratik and I would return back home together with our eternal guffs; when we shared our tiffins; when Principal ma’am asked what constipation meant and Mukesh answered “eye pain”; those endless khakars of Dariwal sir; when Milinda Sir asked what Milinda wanted to be and Sudha’s answer -  â€œA famous model”; those days at Pratik’s house before computer exam; those days of preparation before school mela; those petty fighting’s between girls and boys; times when we had that magical enthusiasm that we could do anything, just ANYTHING!

The more I’d think, the more nostalgic I’d get. A pop-up popped out from my IM screen, there was no bound of my happiness!

“Hi”, a familiar name appears in front of my eyes.

“Hey! Long time, how have you been?”

“Yea, I am fine, Thanks. You?”

“I am fine too. I was thinking about your guys earlier today...”

“Hey, someone is knocking at my door. I got to go now, I will catch you later. See ya, bye!”

Something struck my head again. “Well, we can talk whatever we want at the moment. But we don’t know where we will be in future. May be..we won’t even have time to talk to each other, who knows…………”
