I've noticed that a good number of intellectuals have stopped writing in sajha. Such as ashu, nepe, sitara, I might be missing quite a few.

I don't know why Ashu, Nepe, Sitara, John, Sum Off (sorry if I missed any one else mentioned) left or write less frequently or participate less, but I have a suggestion about how Sajha might be to attract good content: positive discrimination in favor of such good content.

To me it is rather odd that a fine piece of work by a Sum Off or an Ashu or Rahul Bhai would need to compete for views and posts on the home page in the same way as a thread trashing someone or something. I think it's about time we had groups on Sajha and content was organized into groups. San bro or some one else could then play the role of an editor or facilitator and select say 10 or 20 threads that reflected good content and feature them on the home page. Sulekha has done this quite successfully and I find that site, which started as a bulletin board, pretty much on the lines of Sajha, continues to attract good content.

To me it's a bit ridiculous that there are ten thread about Prashant Tamang listed one after another followed by ten threads about Nepali politics listed right after. Between them they fill up almost everything on the home page. Why not have two groups instead - in this case one for Prashant and one for Maosist - with say 20 threads under them? Small wonder content gets lost when the basis for pushing a thread up is the last update date/time.

Anyways, it's just a thought. I cant say for sure if this will bring back posters or retain those who exists, but I think it has a good chance of doing so if the site is reorganized around this principle given what we've seen on social networking sites that have been runaway successes.

BTW, BC too seems to be lost and we defn need wildcards such as him here. Anyway, what you've suggested is exactly the jist of the whats going on here and we need to start bringing forth the brain-gain mentality here rather than lose all the talent to some other website out there. It could all start by taking into effect a part of your suggestions.

Samsara, as I mentioned earlier in one of my posts that there are still some people in Sajha who look up to you. So stop acting like a fool, think deep and answer if your first post was not ignorant. Its ok if you do not want to admit, but please don’t try to change the topic here and lose the respect you've earned over the years in Sajha. To be honest with you, I think you are one of the intellectuals here in Sajha. Most of your posts make sense and are backed up by facts. But when it comes to arrogance, you top the list.

Torikotyel, I am NOT even close to being an intellectual as I would reserve that spot for some of the other fine writer/theorists and economist who often post their views here.
