When I think of Ktm, immedieately my mind recalls

BUDHO BUS --No. 26 TANGAL-- PATANDHOKA and the most interesting thing was the drivers always played EVERGREEN melodious Hindi tracks ( I heard there was another route called LAUDA to Kirtipur..anyone from there......

Then comes GAIRIDHARAko NAAN ra SEKUWA corner.....

I USED TO GO TO EAT NAAN OR SEKUWA THERE AT LEAST TWICE OR THRICE A WEEK... I HAVE BEEN GOING THERE SINCE I CAME TO NEPAL AS A KID... HM... MISS THOSE OLD DAYS...

Amazing, that pic of the alley in Thamel (the signs of Sandwich Point, Hotel Pisang, etc. but missing the now defunct Singay Restaurant) brought back HUGE memories...A blast from the past if you may. Man, I grew up on that street!! And that strip of road seemed huge back in the days but seeing the pic today, I doubt even a Maruti 800 could drive through it. It's width looks smaller than my friggin driveway!!

Man my mouth is watering at the moment...Sandwich Point ko Sandwich...Airport ko Sekuwa...Patan ko Choila..Bara...BK's ko french fries....Rangasala ko opp ko jerry swari paune shop...Man I will make sure i visit all these places when i go home this nov.....Java ko Brownie with ice cream....Pulchowk ko Momo cha...Nanglo ko Momos.......;HYA!!! LAMO

We lack all that here and all we have is a cartel of Nepali Restaurants that have made us content with basic dal-bhat and indain influenced newari khana that if back in Nepal, I'd avoid like a bad habit. Beggers can't be choosers, so I'm left to eat what they have here. K garne..Samsara bro...man i miss the newari food...Atleast u still get it there even though it has that Indian influence..something is better than nothing bro!!! Yaha ta...every nook and corner has a Agarwal Sweets..Pau bhaji shops everywhere...pan puri which is no match to the ones you get in Siliguri even KTM for that matter...Momos has the Punjabi influence here ...
As far as regular home food is concerned, I live with my NP-LC days ko keti so she whips up some real good food...we do eat the occasional gundruk ko jhol...churpi ko acchar...sungur ra rayo ko saag....kinema....

One thing I can never forget about the above posted CHattre Ganesh, besides being our perennial bus stop in the mornings for years, is the time during MILK DRINKING SAGA by statues in KTM.....a rebellious youth trying to make Ganesh drink some Beer :).

Anyways, Gairidhara sekuwa aka coco cola sekuwa center is simply out of this world....and as for the memories of ktm, mine revolves mainly around gahana pokhari and those innumerable handigaon jatras........
