If you want one that lasts you for 3 years, then I'd get an IBM Thinkpad.

I had a DelL and it was really good and I end up giving it to my sister when I visit nepal last yera, and she really appriciate it. Now I hav a Gateway which is wonderful too.

Well, I think I will say DELL since it is good for the money and also I received it next day. I mean I thought it might take at least three days before I get it at my home.

How about this one?? IBM T-42. One thing you can be sure of is that your harddrive won't crash..It has built in shock detection and an extra mouse. Whatever you get, don't forget to get Intel Centrino Mobile Technology as your battery will last longer than any other processors.

My preference of laptop brand in order:

1. IBM (quality, customer service, reliability)
2. Dell (price, customer service)
3. Sony (poor customer service and poor support)
4. HP (good customer service)
5. Toshiba (ok customer service)

If I need to buy one today, I will buy Dell simply because it is cheaper, has good customer support and I can buy extended warranty for three years.
