To all the haters and those who loves to b!tch about everything. It was such a pain to just sit and watch Nepalese Politicians corrupting the country and just breaking the country apart (I truly think every opposition party leader?s favorite time pass was not sex but to plan to fail the government) and to see THE Maoist playing GOD and taking lives of Nepalese everyday. I would like to ask every Nepalese, who would they rather have trusted the country other than King? Do you think it would be a good idea to give another five years to Deuba, or would you rather have Girija or Madhav Nepal or Girija?s daughter for next several years? Can you give me a name of ONE person (I repeat one person) who you think can unite the country? We have run out of trust worthy leaders. Soon, rich Nepalese and educated / smart Nepalese ?who usually prefer living anywhere in the world than staying in Nepal? would be suggesting to outsource the leaders from America or India (ha! That would be funny). We have already lost more than 11,000 lives during the on going civil war. Whether it was a death of Moist or Army or those innocent civilians?they were our own Nepalese people. More and more villages and towns are in the process of converting into United States of Moist. If we were to give ANOTHER chance (out of those many many chances) to these political leaders, just imagine how many more lives we would lose? How much more deficit, poorer we would have become? How many more villages and towns to become maobadi land? How long to wait to see the peace? When is my son gonna be able to actually attend school and learn? I know after reading this some of you might even call me Panchhe or Ganendra ko manchha or whatever AND I?m gonna have to say?Damn! Fool?you are still sooooo stupid. I was a big fan of Birendra (and I miss him so damn Much) and I am not too crazy about current king and I am not saying, now the king has taken over and everything is just going to be right. But we have to admit that now it has started to take shapes and forms of development to get rid of Terrorism, corruption, and moreover the hope to better future. (It kind? a feels like there is at least a solid plan and determination to fight against terrorism). All we Nepalese have been so DIVIDED for last few years. May be this is the time we all be UNITED and fix our country?s problem together NOT just sit back, drink tea, watch Zee TV, read newspaper and bitch about government every single day. Give him a chance; we gave these self-centered politicians 14 years, why can?t we give king 3 years. YOU can help to change the future of this country. You don?t have to perform any miracle. Just do whatever you do with a positive attitude and just don?t waste time complaining about your neighbor?s wife and government. I am a bus driver and I will make sure your kids get to school and return home safe and on time, so that someday when these kids grow up they would bring positive things in our lives. I am gonna participate in a street riot just because one of the political leader had to Wait 20 minutes at the airport or neither am I gonna donate my hard on dime to moist so that they can buy more land mines to kill more of my children. That is how I am gonna help my country. If you are a shop keeper and you wanna help country to grow, just open you store everyday to mobilize the economy (trust me you play a part in mobilizing economy) , don?t cheat on your taxes, Keep your neighborhood clean and around your stores and encourage others to do the same thing. What are you gonna do to help to heal the wounds? What?

#4 means that the ordinarly folks in KTM, the ones who depend on daily wages to make their living, do not care if the country is democratic, autocratic, theocratic or whatever-cratic. They just want a life of peace and where riots in the streets and constant bandhs do not stifle their right to earn their daily bread. They couldn't care less about whose freedom of speech or freedom of press got taken away.

Republican, How do you know so much about people in kathmandu? You certainly don't sound like someone from KTM. Are you trying to say, people from Kathmandu, don't give s s#!t about Country, Freedom, and their rights as long as they get their daily wages. You seem to care a lot...a lot.. what part of Nepal are you from? You said people in KTm just want life of peace -(that is probably true)- but is it only THE people in Kathmandu who wants a peaceful life? And then ...where are those people come from who have so much of free time to participate in riots in the street of kathmandu every single day? And about your last line "they couldn't care less about whose freedom of speech or freedom of press got taken away" ,....hmmmmm i just don't know how to respond to this one....You LOST me right there again. You are funny like a Ripped-off-Lincoln. Mr. Republican.

republican, thats infact a ridiculous point i have ever heard. Govt. is the rulling power of the country, once the govt. has a change of power, there is changes in LAW, and once the law changes, it hampers Bussiness, Govt. Offices, etc..etcc. SO YES, it does effect each and every life, directly or indirectly. You just have to wait for the situation to unfold.

NRG, read ur posting.. its was good.. i support it.. but plz try to avoid abusive languages and words.. i know everybody is aggressive but still lets give an effort to avoid it. REPUBLICAN!!! i am fron ktm... yea we have a good diversity of ppl folllowing their diverse believes.. and by the way.. what wrong if the # 4 ppl .. (ordinary ppl) do not care about whether its autocracy or republic or democratic or GUNDARAAJ (thats what we were practicing for 14 years) if a bus driver can earn his living .. .and have mental peace that his family is safe at home and waiting for him to come after work.... and also have a good night and satisfied dinner with family together.. then who cares about whats going on in politics.... Maobaadi acts and # 4 ppl suffer.. Govt. acts # 4 ppl suffers... Opposition acts #4 suffer... OH YEA all they wanted is nothing but a peace of mind when they go to work.. and what they earn.. and what they share with thier family.....

Yes, Maoist and Royal Nepal Army (RNA) both are Nepalese. Let's think. Why people (maoist) wants fighting, dying, killing, battle or revolution? That means maoist are not only killing RNA, but you are getting kill by RNA, too. Why maoist risk their life? That's not easy and simple. That is not fun either. Why people (maoist) wants to die for revolution? Why maoist crying like baby cry for mother? Are those maoist criminals? If they are criminals, they should have enough banks money in their pockets by now. They must go to switzerland or europe for good life. But NOT. Why? If we think deeply......... Root problem of Nepal are (1) Racism and un-equality in government employments, education, social and culture. (2) Law, Order, Justice and Constiution is dead. Just only named. (3) Democracy and Freedom is only in the name. Not a Real or True Democracy in Nepal. (4) For Corruption, blackmail and Crimes never ever watch, control and take action. (5) Market value, fear and fix market price never ever monitor and control. (6) Education, Health, Business, Development and social services never care. Just named. (7) Too many moral less parties, and their crook leaderships. Waste of time, money and energy. If we control these matters, Maoist will disapear automatically....... Because the base on these reason that they fight for... Is not it?

Nitu, nice to read ur comment? Maoist kidnapped 300 school.. .. Maoist will Disrupt coming up SLC? those were heading hot topic before FEB 1?. And by the way all? political party were not united to battle such huge crime.. maybe they were not well educated or.. they don?t know the value of education much in comparison their own priority for Kurshi? No political party fight back against maoist when they killed a school teacher tied in a tree trunk and beaten up to death in front of school children??.. Now there is an inteveiw posted in bbc Nepal.. Krishna bahadur marharjan (maoist)? see how honestly he lies?. White Lies.. Maybe all maobadi?s children are getting good education outside Nepal? maybe India or abroad? Why political party fails to stand for our right (general public)???? If I don?t have any education I will starve.. coz that?s the only way I can earn my bread?. My father is not politician neither he is a businessman? and none of my uncles are neta ?. That?s why all I need is peace.. so that I can continue my education? and at least have mental peace that my parents are alrite at home

Hot Stuff, without sounding too condescending, let's go through the first few lines of my post: "Views from Nepal" - from Nepal, as in, I'm reporting from Nepal because that's where I am right now, albeit temporarily. That doesn't make my observations any less credible than that of a person who lives in Nepal permanently, does it? " The reactions to the current political development in Nepal among the masses in KTM can be generalized into a few categories.." - I specifically said KTM because I'm in KTM and I am not qualified to or do not desire to speak for the people outside the valley. The 4 points I made are merely observations I picked up on the streets of Kathmandu. Those of you having a problem with #4, talk to the people who are in that category because I'm not one of them. But I understand where they're coming from. Before you rush to any judgments, talk to one of them and you will at least sympathize with their stance. Democracy is after all an ideology and neither you nor I can expect everybody to subscribe to it. Bionepal, I didn't say anybody was right or wrong. I was only attempting to categorize the general reactions of the public in KTM.

I did not want to write anything on this matter but I could not resist adding a few words to this post. I totally agree with Republican on #4. A common nepali person, who lives under the poverty line and whose prime concern is what he is going to have for dinner before he goes to bed, does not give a hoot about who is sitting in the "ghumne mech" in Singha Durbar. He does not care what kind of "-ist" politcal party is in power. For him, it is the question of "paapi pet". Just my opinion.

Salute to your +ve words & attitude, Mr. NepaliRamGurung: People who are dreaming & praying for King's failure... are all the political parties, and the Maoist murderer. Since, if he succeed that would be the end of their influence. Lets get UNITED people! and give him a chance... for the sake of your country. In fact, I dont care if its a DEVIL ruling my NEPAL, as long as it brings peace!!! PEACE OUT! LETS GET UNITED FOR PEACE!! again, not for the king, not for bad army or police or still corrupt people in power.... FOR THE LAND OF PEACE(was), and the LAND OF GURKHAS(not maoist)... for your own safety, and for the generation to come. I would rather be proud to say Nepal is peaceful, and has NO democracy.. than to say Nepal has democracy with chaos/corruption/power struggle..and other shit!

Republican, Firstly, I don't believe you are in KTM because you have posted comments here even when the entire communication channels where cut off (unless you got your own personal satellite). If you really are to in KTM, you need some serious help and should seek therapy cause spending all night and day just to post comments in this website is not normal. Let me tell you something about people in kathmandu...there are TWO kinds of people in Kathmandu, #1- Those who love peace and doesn't participate in street riot-(in your words- #4 type- or NepaliRamGurung type) #2- Those who doesn't have brain of their own and participate on street Riot for littlest stupid reason and always ready to throw stone at public properties and vehicles if Girja ask them to do so (AND I doubt those people are kathmandu resident..if they were they would love the city as their own house and not try to destroy their own home town). You have already admitted to the public that you are #4 type..THREFOREthat makes you my #2 type. Well! Good for you. Keep fully Rocking. Thank you speaking in behalf of all kathmandu resident of your type. Take my advice....Just speak for yourself. Hotstuff

I meant Since you have already admitted that you are NOT #4 type (which is my #1 type).....that makes you my #2 type. I'm with you..Arryan....I would rather have our country ruled by a not so great KING and be proud that NEPAL still exist in the map than Have those Uncle Truckers breaking our little land into pieces and erase our identity

Thank you every one of you for you input on this thread. I enjoyed reading every one of your thoughts about the county, people, and the current situation. I appreciate Sajha for this opportunity. Let's spread the word of peace and most of all...let's all be United Nepalese. Difference in opinion is good. Diversified thoughts bring new ideas and lot of times better ideas. Let's keep it going. Things are back to normal here in Nepal. It is quite nice to see life going without any street riots and lot less traffic jams. The army people are still seen in every corner but that has reduced the crime to zero level esp. in KTM. No bomb blast, no shooting, no Gang fights, no robbery...and lot of other positive outcomes. I feel much safer to live in my own house now. Thank you Hotsuff and some of you for your kind email. And Yes HS, I will surely send you my picture. Namaskar.
