Sathi, what are you talking about? yes you can use India for transit but you have to board on the flight first from Nepal and for that you have to show your US passport to the Nepali authorities.
If you show your US passport in in Nepal while exiting but you you had entered using your Nepali passport , then you're in trouble in Nepal for not having an arrival stamp on your US passport.
Yes you can fly to India and using your Nepali passport, but then you're not in transit and you will get in trouble in India if you try to use your US passport in India because they will question you how you entered India with US passport and no visa. and no india does not recognize dual citizenship.
you can't enter India with Nepali passport an board the US flight using your American passport. Not technically at least. So you said , you were just in a transit in India for less than 72 hours, so in the first place, how did you get on the plane to be in a transit with your final destination as the US without showing your US passport in Nepal?if you entered Nepal using your Nepali passport.
if you are talking about your experience as travelling as a green card then it's totally different to what people are talking on this thread. You said your cousins relatives used Nepali passport to get into Nepal, but that's not even the point of discussion here. Everyone with Nepali passport can enter Nepal, but did they use their British passport to fly back to the UK?
Sorry i just don't want people to get wrong information and get stranded or get banned from Entering Nepal or India. Trust me Nepali immigration is tough for foreigners.
