Oh, I could not watch without cringing.  Ugghhh... Nepal ko police.  Such brutality: beating up that poor woman and kicking that man from all around.  I hope Nepal police does not represent us Nepalis.  What a shame.

Most of you may not agree with me, Police carried the order but condemn the government who order to suppress the rally.  Their habit is always the same, when got chance they use excessive force than needed.

I don't blame Nepalese police, instead this so called 'Tibetans' need to stop this act in foreign land to put Nepal in difficult situations. If these mo-fo really care about Tibet and want Tibet to be free from China then they need to go back to Tibet and fight the way Tunisians and Egyptian fought for. This A-holes illegal immigrant in Nepal bribe Nepalese authorities to gain citizenship, get aids from western countries on name of refugees and living prosper er life in Nepal better than average Nepalese people.

Nepal need to put them a place like 'Jhapa refugee camp' and we will see how many people come to Nepal for freedom. these people nothing more than economic refugees.

It just is barbaric of these policemen to be beating up a woman or helpless man like that.

No matter what the politics is, these beatings are wrong.  No two way about it.  No justification.  It's just outright savage and immoral.

If you don't agree, I am sorry to say, you are an ignorant a$$hole.

Riten, i bet you're as exactly same as those 'Khate Tibetians' who come to the United State in the name of 'Refugee' and work your azz off 16-18 a day. No wonder you have sympathy for them, I know those Tibetians are not refugee, cause I had lived in 'Boudha' for several years.
And for your information, in terms of beating by police, wouldn't be we nepalese here be safe here in america if American police were allowed to beat 'Kale' shit out of them in jail so they wouldn't even think twice to rob and kill store clerk??

Wi-fi, Ji i don't know ur speed or how fast you travel, for me its seems u r still using Nepal dial-up.
We are no differnt than those Tibetans, who came to US becuase we were week enough to fight back in home, Nepal. Or at the same time we can argue that we came for better future and easy life (easy or hard we decide). The main thing here is we are not in a position to make who is legal or who is illegal or what does Tibetans does in Nepal.
The main thing here was beating of some helpless and unarmed people, which is in no way a Justifiable ( i don't know if there is such word called justifiable).
by the way, ur spped was a joke, take it as ur friday morning laugh.........
Jai Nepal...

Wi fi: what makes you say that the tibetan people living in Boudha are not refugees? let's hear your definition of refugee and we can go from there.

Can you explain to me what anything has to do with you living in Boudha got to do with Tibetans not being refugees? I  am not sure what you are implying but can you elaborate more on that?

What makes you so sure that by beating a 'kale'l by police would change anything? Has it changed anything in Nepal? Police beat the shit out of people who are in jails yet we still have crime in our society no?

guys my point is that.....whether somebody got the right to express or protest in Nepal or not ????..........it's not about what is right or wrong....its about how the police dealt with those unarmed protestors........that is surely not acceptable in a civilized country........enough is enough.........be it a Nepali , or a Tibetan, no body got the right to beat someone like that.....and that too by a police with the tag " Nepal Police ". it's a shame .....Prahari jawaans need to learn some lessons about it........and i am not saying that all are bad......but its for sure that Nepal Police is not handling the protestors humanely.....

this brings me to point out another question: How come Nepalese do not show anti-Chinese sentiment when pressured by Chinese Govt to keep these protest at bay?

I was under the impression, i might be wrong but  the Chinese govt pressured Nepal govt to control Tibetan freedom protests in Nepal or they were going to intervene if it got out of hand?

Had it been the neighbor from the south doing so; we would have been pretty quick to explode and support the anti-Indian rhetorics. why then are we not doing the same against the chinese?

One China Policy is Nepal's government formal position. After the Ganatantra, antichina activity is soaring, thanks to India/West. This in a long run will not be beneficial to the Nation Nepal.

As for the Human Rights, objective evaluation is essential. Poor country Nepal is housing so many refugees, how come?
If you are refugee you are not supposed to work or to do busines, right? so how many of you really think these refugees at do not have any business or trade? Why US was so eager to give GREEN CARD TO BHUTANESE REFUGEE IN NEPAL ( coz India also wanted the same) and why not to TIBETN REFUGEE! AND if you are so concerned, Why you are so silence about BHUTANESE REFUGEE? Stop you all hypocrites!!

I feel for those, but instead of politicalizing the issue at the behest of west and India,  we need to go little deeper and understand the issue.  Human Rights! what a joke –who are those who sets parameters for human rights?- it is like “ Tera Khun Khun Mera Khun Pani”?.

Tibeten Rufugees- if you are provided shelter in nepal- abide the law of the land! If not go to Delhi in front of Chinese embassy , do the same thing if you can!

AAFNO DES KO SWOTANTRATA KO LAGI AFNAI THAUMA GAYERA ANDOLAN GARNU ARKA KO DESH MA AYERA HOIN! TIBETEN REFUGEE BHANAUDA HARUKO SOURCE OF INCOME KO BAREMA CHAN BIN HUNA JARURI CHA! NEPAL KO VIRGIN LAND RA DANDAMA RATARAT KASARI MONASTERAY BANDAI CHA?

Thanks guys.

As I said, forget politics.  You might be on the side of Tibetans, you might be on the side of Chinese, you have the right to have your opinion.  But that is beside the point here.

If you don't feel an ounce of compassion when you see a woman being beaten up and her hair being violently pulled by bunch of armed men or if you don't feel outraged when an unarmed man gets kicked by circle of booted cops, then I have nothing more to say to you except "I pity you and pray that someday some love and some sympathy will germinate in your heart for fellow beings".

It’s not the issue of Tibetan protesting here. Cops are unprofessional in Nepal, period! If you get into the custody for any reason, they will beat you first for no reason even if you’re innocent or guilty. It doesn’t matter to them. One time, I was walking down the street and the cop van pulled by and dragged me in the van. I was in shock. They took me to the police satiation and the inspector slapped me twice without even asking anything. I knew the ASI and asked him what’s going on and he was like, “Oh, sh*t miss identification yaar.” The inspector apologized and even dropped me home. I still hate them for those two slaps.

Junior cops are like slaves to their officers. Some of them even cook, wash clothes, drive, take care of their children (baby sit), buy groceries and do other labor works for their senior supervisors.

Senior officers get trained in the developed countries like UK, US, Europe and so on. They travel all the time. But they don’t imply what they have learned. There are many techniques for crowd control using less force and looking not so bad in front of the media and general people. For example, they don’t have to raise baton from the head above, it can be done by swinging the baton from side by side. I have learned some techniques here and our instructor told us all the time that; safety first, use less force and don’t be inhuman. If you violated these rules and get caught here, you are fked big time.

Both Nepal Police and Nepal Army have to be more professional.
