This years ANA is sucking big time. Kasto jhoor. Even on inauguration they played american national anthem before the Nepali one. I was so pissed because of that.

Even I didnt get any charm ...

Question: Why the heck are ANA playing the American anthem anyways...??

QRQ Bhaiya, it must be your first attendance to ANA convention and you must have very high expectation about it, is the main reason of sucking it. I have been reading ANA conventions since 1994 and got a chance to attend one in New Jersey. I knew what it going to be; still it was lower than low exctation and imagination. I did not feel much more different than a high school reunion, some were in my Kathmandu city. Most of them were hanging on small group and alcohol was drank every part of the hotel and empty bottles and can were scattered conference room to parking lot. Once I made a comment that the hotel will not like to allow us to do another convention in their hotel chain again. One gentleman looks very intelligent and very skillful in writing disagree with me very nastily because he did not want to know the truth and acted like a child to prove him right because he claimed he was part of the management team.

So, any ANA convention is nothing but a crowd to drink people like gathering for  ST. Patrick day and every one dirking from their room to parking spot and felt like I inter a big bar. 

Hope next time you will not go with high expection but with some goal or to meet friends and family to reunion.

Becoz we live in America! And besides, they did play our Nepali national anthem too. We all know what ANA stands for : Association of Nepalese in America - that was a respect for a great nation that has welcomed us all foreigners & provided - all honest & hard workers - fair & equal oppurtunities to succeed. I dont think they did anything wrong by playing the US national anthem ahead of our Nepali anthem & certainly dont this this is an issue worth discussing.

When they said they were going to play the national anthem lot of people were kind of dismayed that they played the american anthem. I think they should have played the Nepali anthem first. It's just my opinion. You are free to have your own opinion :=)

Playing american anthem is not problem, they should have played the nepali anthem first.

 

This is the Nepali mentality here too. When Indian Nepalese (Madhesis) play Indian Anthem, we called them dothi….bla…bla….., when it’s our turn, we want to play Nepalese Anthem in America first and get so proud of being Nepalese. If you’re so proud of yourself being Nepalese then go to Nepal and lick f**cker Nepalese leaders shoe. If you don’t wanna go until ICE kick your ass out of the country then shut up.

We don’t wanna respect the country who gave us opportunity, security, food stamp (I know lot of Nepalese have $50,000 in banks but still get food stamp), human rights (more than our own country) I can go on and on this issue.

I love Nepal that doesn’t mean I wanna put Nepalese flag sticker on my car in America. I rather put ‘Star Spangled Banner’ on my car while I am in America. You have to be 'noon ko sojho'. I wish all Indian Nepalese did that in Nepal.

ANA is sucking this year

They played American Anthem first because you guys yourself chose America over Nepal.  If anybody have oppertunity they will easily renonuce Nepalese citizenship to get US.

ANA Conference = ANA gathering and party.


Do not disappoint about ANA conference, it is just a party where people meet
and enjoy. But this time you were disappointed by running American Anthem
followed by Nepali Anthem. 


Some of you may have argument we should have played the very old one "गाऊछ गीत नेपाली ज्योतिको पंखा उचाली, जय जय 
........ over new one. If someone asks me about new one, I liked the very
old one over new.


As other said, if you have gone first time and had no idea how it
goes, may have disappointed . Those who had gone before enjoyed it meeting
friends residing all over the USA
because it is the best party time to reunite. If you visit next year, you would
not be disappointed  again, because you know what to expect.


I do not blame ANA organizer only, we participants are equally responsible for a successful conference.

I think people need to change their prude mentality. It is fair to say that you need to appreciate this great country and what this country has provided to you rather then being upset why they did not play your national anthem.

It is not about the national anthem its about your way of thinking and how you perceive things. This Nepali mentality will never change if you ask me. That's why our country will never prosper.

For all of you who has posted before me. I read couple of yours posts and I don't mind ANA playing American National Anthem first or last.... Dude... I don't care.......... But, I will tell you guys I am a TRUE NEPALI, a real Gorkhali. So, Chill out guys, don't worry and enjoy the moment you live and stop worrying what's happening in US but if you really care go back to Nepal and make some difference if you can............ My Nepal, My Pride.........

Since ANA establish, all youth of America do nothing but gathering in group, drink alcohol and do 3rd class gossips.

 

They do not do any creative activities.

They do not do any informative and helpful activity for Nepalese communities and Nepal.

 

ANA can do many things for Nepal, but ANA never ever done anything.

 

There are so many problems in Nepal and Nepalese communities around the world.

 

1.   India invasion in Nepali borders. ANA never ever raise any single issues and opposed anything to Indian embassy. ANA can do but never ever done about it.

 

2.   Duel citizenship issues and matter for all Nepalese around the world. ANA have no clue about it.

 

3.   Support social development projects or mini self-sustain project for Nepal. ANA have ability to do these kids of small scale projects to contribute to mother land Nepal. But ANA never ever do or think about it.
