Has anyone changed from F1 to Green card recently? if so could you give some guidance on it?
regards the fees, documents and steps.

1. F1-->Marry US citizen-->Green Card-->Citizenship
2. F1-->H1-->Green Card-->Citizenship
3. F1-->Join Military-->Citizenship

how can F1 join military. i believe one has to be at least a permanent resident and joining the army will expedite the process and land the citizenship within 6 months to 1 year whereas an ordinary permanent resident has to wait at least 4 years in order to apply for citizenship.please dont pass out wrong info. correct me if i am wrong.

Kaji Sahab,yeah you are worng about F1 not being able to join the Army. Right now US ARMY has a new program called MAVNI, under which people of foreign origin with F1or H1 can join the military after passing a mere langauge test. Google MAVNI-Pilot program, you will get the answers.

Airb007, do a little research before posting your smart ass comment.  mrhunter is not bluffing or misleading, there is a new pilot program called Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest, or MAVNI, where one can join the army without having US green card or Citizenship but be here legally for 2 years on F1, H1 or other temp visa.

TeamLogo, I am in Texas and i thought the same thing too. But then i talked with a recruiter from NYC, he told me if i could come to NYC, it wont matter if i live there or not. You just have to be able to travel. And i did meet other Nepalis there, some from Nebraska, and florida. If you are planning to go make sure you have atleast one and a half week time coz the process is kinda long.
