I would say developing the transportation system would be the most important. The rural areas won’t be so isolated. Communication will be faster. The business opportunities will increase. Folks who could only sell in a 10 mile radius would be able to go longer and farther distances and sell their goods and also buy good for cheaper b/c the competition will increase.

Then concentrate on exports. Maximize exports minimized imports.

Above all we would need people willing to invest MONEY and time in Nepal 

 

Yeah and after getting rid of Maoist, Nepali Congress will come with ever increasing corruptions.....and we will kill them too???

(१) नेपाल को संबिधान, कनुन हरु धेरै नै कडा र स्वछ डेमोक्राटिक हुनु पर्छ। पछाडिएका जन्जती हरुलाई केही शाहउलियत दिनु पर्छ। सबैलाई समानन्तर हक, अधिकर र  अत्मा-जिउने-बिकास गर्ने मौका हरु हुनु पर्छ। कोही बत्मस काम गरी सुन्को महल म बस्ने र कोही अनुशासित दाङले काम गरदा पनि नागै जिउनु पर्ने हुनु हुँदैन।

(२) नेपाल को सीमा हरु को नियन्त्रन, निरिक्चन र सुरछ। गर्नु पर्छ। भुमी छैन भने देश पनि हुँदैन - देश छैन भने नेपाली को अस्तितवो छैन.

(३) भारत ले उखेलेर, भ्त्कएर बिगारएको सिमन खम्बा हरु को पूर्ण निर्माण र भरत सित राम्रो सिमा को नयाँ सन्धी गर्नु जरुरी छ। भरत बिकासइत छ बलियो छ हामी भरत सित लडाईं गर्न सक्दैनौ तर हामी आफ्नो सिमाना हरु, भुमी हरु र आफ्नो अधिकार को जगर्ना गर्न सकछौ र सक्नु पर्छ।

(४) नयाँ नेपाली संबिधानमा र नयाँ कनुनमा यो लेखेको हुनु पर्छ कि कसैले नेपाल देश र सरकार को कानुन तोद छ र राष्ट्र अप्रराध गर्छ भने त्यस्तो राष्ट्र अप्रधी ले "जन्मा कैद या मृत्‍यु सजए हुनु पर्छ। डेस्क को लाई तयग दिने लाई इतजत सममान दिने र राष्ट्र अप्रधी लाई मृत्‍यु को सजय देने कनुन हुनु पर्छ।

Frist thing is - get rid of extreme greedy brahmanism (Bahunbad) and their nepotism from all major parties including Girija, Prachanda, Makune and jhallu. Those parties will be in better shape after booted these greedy Bahuns out.

Sure, there are ways to save Nepal. Your ideas are very valid. My belief is more fundamental than some that have been sujested here. First of all, to save Nepal we have to love it. Love is the answer. If you love it, you will do what it takes to do what you feel needs to be done. If we love our place from our heart, and not our mouth alone, then we will not hesitate to do our part. Talk is cheap, but action is precious. Find some cause or organization that you trust and try to be a part of it and help it. Join the movement, It is not something we can do alone. See if you can help your own community first, or your hometown or your birth place. We have to try to select an area where we can be most effective to carry out our action, but at the same time we have to have a larger reference in life, a framework that will tie our work to a bigger context and the trend in the world. We must understand how the world works and use that to our benefit. Think globally, act locally is the adage, I believe. When I was abroad, I helped an organization in Nepal. Now I am in Nepal, I am doing that as well as started one of my own. We each could do something similar. 

Nepal is my love and pride..Our country is at the edge of being vanished..ANd i am really hurt to look at the present situation of our country and its people...Personally I feel that all the nepalese who are studying abroad should make their way back to Nepal to work...I am studying abroad, and the course I am taking is really highly paying job in USA...But I will only work some years here for international experiences and then move back to my country...I have the eager to do something for my country and I will...I guess this intense feeling is what every nepali should have in order to save NEPAL..

Unfortunately, not understading the severity of the problem and the sustained effort it requires to change the face of Nepal is one of the main drawbacks to our mission to create a new Nepal.

Thought lies at the beginning. Whatever we see around us started with thoughts. Thought leads to action leads to manifestation. For instance, an engineer thinks of a design, turns it into drawings, and that is turned into a physical manifestation. Similar thing applies to Nepal. Unless people of Nepal think of changing Nepal seriously, it will not change into a miraculous prosperous haven like we imagine. Even taking a cursory look at the discussion threads in this chat shows that more interest is in entertainment related topics than development of Nepal. Does that not tell us why Nepal is like it is?

One important way could be learning lesson from US presidential election. Many ordinary Americans chipped in little through the Internet to support Obama, which helped him to make a strong case for his candidacy and actually win and then make history. We could be part of history and turn the fate of Nepal. One positive thought and a step to match it will go a long way to remodel Nepal to our liking.
