: perfume, cologne, body spray; high, med,low fragrance concentration and of course there is a difference in how you apply them. you don't apply perfume or cologne as liberally as you would apply body spray. Well wrt men's fragrance: you might wanna try David Beckham Instinct ( it's pretty good) and yeah Axe is not bad for a body spray i use it too

Samsara, Bob Marley bro, I completely disagree with both of you. FYI, you can say perfume for men too. It seems like both of have lived in the US, as both of you mentioned about "cologne".People in Europe say perfume. - Perfume, also called extract or extrait perfume, can include 15-40% perfume concentrates. This is the purest form of scented product and is the most expensive as a result.
- Eau de parfum
contains about 7-15% perfume concentrates. This is the most popular and
common form of perfume. It provides a long-lasting fragrance and
generally tdoesn't cost as much as extract perfume.
- Eau de toilette
has around 1-6% perfume concentrates. This makes for a light scent that
doesn't linger as long as the more intense versions. It was originally
intended to be a refreshing body splash to help people wake up in the
morning.
- Eau de cologne
is sometimes used interchangeably with the term eau de toilette.
However, the concoction began as the name of a light, fresh fragrance
mixed with citrus oils and was made popular by Napoleon. Some perfumers
today have a version of this called eau fraiche.

hahaha Latobuddhi, could you read the lines when you post (and re-read them over)?? I can't fathom the level of ignorance one brings about when posting excerpts outta the web without first reading them. LMFAO
The whole excerpt never mentions of the fact that it is a man's perfume. And secondly, Napoleon's name is brought about in the Eau de cologne section...Can't you read: It says cologne (not parfum)!!

laatobuddhi... Hey frenchy, don't mess with America or we'll bring democracy to your country like in Iraq. We really don't care what you "You're Peeing"-or as you say-European- say? Perfume for men sounds utterly gay. What do you care? You're filled with gays there.

Bob Marley,
I don't see any reasons for the US to in Iraq, and go and do you your homework about American history...
Talking about bringing democracy in the world.....
Buffalo Soldier, Dreadlock Rasta: There was a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America, Stolen from Africa, brought to America, Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival,
Dreadie, woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy, Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy! Woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy, Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!

Laato, you're totally missing the point here...Just as your name suggests. Does it mention anywhere in my cologne bottle the word "perfume" (or parfum)?? Eau De Toilette and Eau de parfum is a whole different animal. Just because cologne may have a few ingredients of perfume, it in no way can be called perfume!! Its like going to a restaurant and ordering a cow instead of beef or how about going to that neighborhood chinese restaurant and ordering Rooster chilly. Man, your reasoning cracks me up!! Now I'm sure you'll come back with some more wizeazz suggestion saying that "perfume" (not cologne) is for men...Predictable to the higest degree!!
BTW, cut and paste better excerpts and not those that make you sound laato (Eau de cologne is for men and NOT Eau de parfum). hahahaha

i sniff and here's what i know :P: sure cologne is a more precise term for men but perfume is a generic word. doesn't hurt if a man says i wear perfume (rather than cologne). there is nothing gay or inappropriateness about it. however, you may be unclear or misunderstood for that matter if you go by using a general term. so i will say, go for saying cologne for men. chemically, eua de parfum, eau de toilette, eau de cologne ALL have perfumes in them. so technically everything is perfume. the concentration of aromatic compounds (that gives scents) is different -- most in parfum and least in cologne. that's why, generally, parfum is more aromatic than cologne. as far as my personal choice goes: i tend to use different colognes for different occasions. i think it's a good practice although it doesn't necessarily have to be that way though. for a formal outing, i go with hugo boss. clinique happy or issey miyake for a more casual outing as it is not as strong as hugo (at least not to my ever sniffing nose haha). some of my other favorites: chrome legend (azzaro), polo black (ralph lauren), drakkar noir... there are many. go with whichever brand you like, but always carry yourself with confidence. woof woof (<< look who's talking hahaha)
