सरकारी शिक्ष्ँिकाको सरल जिन्दगीमा एउटा परिवर्तन ल्याइदियो डीभीले । राष्ट्रसंघको आईएलओ अर्न्तर्गतको एक संस्थाका जागिरे उनका पति राजेन्द्रले जागिर

छाडिदिए । दर्ुइ जुम्ल्याहा छोरा, आफू र श्रीमान् अमेरिका जान लागेको पत्तो पाएका सीताका छिमेकीले उनलाई सजिलै ऋण पत्याए ।

'सेकेन्ड लेटर आइसकेको थियो,' राजेन्द्र भन्छन्- 'ढुक्कैले खर्च गरियो ।'

अमेरिका गइहालिन्छ, अनि त पैसाको के खा“चो भन्ने सिद्धान्तले तिनले ६ लाख खर्च गरेछन् । तर सोचेजस्तो कहा“ हुन्छ - सीता अन्तर्वार्तामा अमेरिका जान अयोग्य घोषित गरिइन् । 'म बर्बाद भए“' आमरण अनशन बसेकी सीताले भनिन्- 'अमेरिकाले ठग्यो ।'

एउटा शान्त र सरल जिन्दगी डीभीको हुरीले यसरी उडाएको घटना यो एउटामात्रै होइन । तीन सयभन्दा बढी त क्षतिपर्ूर्तिको र डीभी चिट्ठा खारेजीको माग गर्दै आन्दोलनमै उत्रिएका छन् ।

ओखलढंुगाका दिनेश पोखरेलको डीभीकै कारण सम्बन्धविच्छेद भएको छ । 'डीभी परेको थाहा पाएपछि' खोटाङकी रिता केसीले सुस्केरा हालिन्- 'गाउ“भरिका मानिस भेट्न आए, बधाई दिए र भाग्यमानी भनेर प्रशंसा गरे ।' तर भिसा नपाएको थाहा पाएपछि तिनै मानिस उनीस“ग बोल्दैनन् रे ।

डीभी पीडित संघका अध्यक्ष घनश्याम बस्यालका अनुसार २५ भन्दा बढी पीडितको मानसिक सन्तुलन खलबलिएको छ । दर्जनभन्दा बढीको सम्बन्ध विच्छेद र एक सयभन्दा बढीको जागिर गुमेको छ । ऋण सबैलाई लागेको छ र धेरैको घरबार बन्दकीमा छ ।

चिट्ठा भनेको धेरैस“ग लिएर थोरैलाई दिने खेल हो । यहा“ अमेरिकाले पनि यही गरिरहेको राजेन्द्रले बताए । अमेरिकाले भर्खर जन्मिएको बच्चाको पनि अन्तरवार्ताको नाममा मोटै रकम लिएर ठगी गरेको उनको गुनासो छ ।

Your health is more important than a visa, Moriarty appeals to protesters

KATHMANDU, April 12 - US ambassador to Nepal James F Moriarty has urged the protesters outside the American Embassy to think first of themselves and their families and to call off their announced hunger strike.

According to a press release issued by the embassy on Thursday, US envoy Moriarty has been quoted as saying, “As we explained to this group of protesters in face-to-face meetings with my deputy on February 5 and March 13, no visa is worth damaging your health.”

The ambassador also appealed to protesters, “I urge these individuals to think first about their families, lives, and future in Nepal, and give up this futile protest.”

Those who were denied US visa had announced on Wednesday that they would go on a fast-unto-death if the US embassy failed to address their problems. The protesters had been demanding that the US embassy reimburse the loss incurred during the visa processing.

In the last month, the Embassy has learned, the protesters have also begun to use threats and intimidation to try to deny visas to legitimate Nepali applicants, stated the release, adding, representatives of the group threatened violence and attempted to extort money from two Nepali doctors who provide medical clearance services to qualified Nepali applicants seeking US immigrant visas.

Condemning the threat acts by the DV protesters in the recent days, the embassy also called on the group to halt such intimidating behavior immediately.

The release also cites an example of March 7 when seven young males claiming to be part of the DV Lottery protester group had visited the clinic of a Nepali physician demanding the doctor stop signing medical clearance forms for the embassy. The doctor’s refusal had instigated one of the protesters to respond as "the consequences [of this refusal] would be very bad” stated the release.

The DV protesters too have been learnt to have asked for financial help to continue their protest programme, which was refused by the doctor.

The release stated, if such threats interfered or halted physical examinations for immigrant visa applicants, the embassy would be unable to process any immigrant visa applications and added that thousands of other Nepalis would be robbed of an opportunity to emigrate to the US as a result.

These people are idiots, i hear this thing every year in the news, yet these people keep on filling dv papers. Simple rule, if they don't meet the DV requirements and can't afford to spend the preliminary cost then don't bother to fill out the dv papers. They are just making it harder for the qualified people.
I have heard that dv is a very good business in nepal. And DV season is like another Dashin for the people who do business in DV related stuff. From simple DV filing offices that charge upto Rs 250, to the second letter filing which they charge like Rs 3000 just to fill out a simple form and mail that to the dv office here in Kentucky. Well that's a good business. That's why you'll see every tom, dick and harry doing business in DV esp. in gallies in kathmandu.
The business doesn't stop there. Some of the DV winners even sell themselves. You might wonder how? yes it's true, a lot of people became successful in earning extra bucks and yet managed to come to US, but few were caught by the embassy and thus this whole gala. There is like an underground business in kathmandu where if you win dv lottery and you filed as single then you can make some goood cash. Well let me make it clear. Some of these DV filing offices have clients who are willing to pay hefty sum to enter into United Status with Permanent Resident Status. So if you are DV winner who filed as single then you would not be surprised if the DV office people ask you if you are interested in that. Well it's a profitable business. You get good several hundred thousand rupees that covers your air tickets and your initial costs here in US, yet you have nothing to lose financially. But you sell yourself for that. You have to fake marryl. since in nepal guys win the dv in majority, so it is guys who mostly fake marry women clients. The guys who win dv lottery and consent on that don't have to do anything, all his costs are beared by the other person. They even bribe government officals to make fake marriage documents (anyways it's rather easy in nepal, you can get real citizenshipcard even if you are not a nepali citizen). Hence after winning DV, some of these people sell themselves, their identity and their soul.
the embassy officials find it unconvincing when they get newly married couple who don't have anything in common, whose past are totally different. Some of the guys do succeed but some fail, for instance there was a case in which a woman was like ten years older than a guy who married shortly after the DV announcement. IN the context of nepal, it is a form of social stigma when it comes to marrying older women and these people who issue visa know that. While some of these marriage may be genuine but when they cannot convince the embassy officials then that's a problem. It might not be true but i have heard that when it comes to newly married couples, the embassy people interviews them seperately and asks them some intimate questions that they would know if you have lived together for sometimes. for instance, questions regarding peculier marks in the body of the other partner, as well as questions related to the other persons past with exact dates in year. The answers are tallied from both persons.
A lot of these incidents has been in the known publicly, yet some people still do go for easy money. And hence create the reason for the visa refusal for themselves.
The majority of the cases where people have been refused of their visas after getting their second letter is because they don't meet the requirement of the US government. Most of them who are rejected make fake documents ( for instance, if guy files his DV as a teaching professional and he has just passed SLC then that would give enough room for suspision. )
Nepali people have the mob mentality. They are swayed by other people without even reasoning them. If these so called DV sufferers have been wrongfully denied their visas then they have grace peroid where they can file their pitition in the Office here in US. Most of the times, embassy officials would ask visa applicants to come with additional supporting documents if they are not fully satisfied with what they filed.

hey people, u cannot only blame the embassy for not giving the VISA. DV Lottery, is just the first step, and its hard for the people to understand, especially for the people living in the remote areas of nepal. they do not have much of a information on dv. they think that dv lottery is the 100% for america. But NO, its not. they can definiteky get the visa if all the criteria is met,like aponsorship, property evaluation etc etc..
but they r not aware these things.I am not sating they r stupid, but it is just lack of information.
they cannot just go aroung and blame the embassy, embassy did not tell them to spend the money even before getting visa,,,,
just sit back and think who is to be blamed for!!!!!

Doesn’t DV clearly say that there is no guarantee of getting Visa even after the second letter and the embassy can deny visa during the interview. Well knowing that if these people borrow money and spend it or quit their job than it’s their stupidity not the embassy fault. And what’s up with these people about going on strike, do people in Nepal know any thing other than strike, like it will solve the whole problem. There is an old saying “don’t count your chicken before they are hatched.”.

Their move to fill up the application and work out for DV is completely without any knowledge. They have been brainwashed by DV lottery consultancies scattered throughout Nepal.

I bet, these consultancies will be able to get more than 100 thousands DV client to fill up the form even in the year US withdrew its DV lottery programme.

i agree with you . these people are reall stupid. they are just demonstrating for not geting a visa to come to us. if you think the american government is cheating you why do you want to come to a fraud country?

These "PIDIT" people clearly deserve justice.

The US State Department should look into the matter or in case the "ANDOLAN" by the 'PIDIT' people dont subside the US Justice Department should intervene for possible criminal activities in the whole matter and lay criminal charges against the those responsible at a US federal court.

The 'PIDIT' people should not give up hope of the 'BIG DREAM' or 'NIGHTMARE'(in this case). The 'PIDIT' people should do whatever is necessary to get justice by means of normal ways of protesting that Nepalese people have been doing for ages since the arrival of democracy in Nepal..for
example ...BHOK HASDTAAL....CHAKKA JAAM...RATNA PARK RALLY...NEPAL BANDH....DEMAND RESIGNATION of a minister in Nepal Govt...or the resignation of the entire current Nepal govt.

अमेरिका जान आवश्यक पर्ने डिभी भिसा पाएर पनि अमेरिका जान नपाएको भन्दै विगत पाँच दिनदेखि आमरण अनसन बस्दै आएका डिभी पीडितहरूको स्वास्थ्य अवस्था ओरालो लाग्दै गएको छ ।


नेपालस्थित अमेरिकी राजदूतावासको कार्यालय अगाडि अनसनमा बसेका छ जना डिभी पीडितहरू अहिले बेहोस अवस्थामा छन् ।


केही महिना अघिदेखि चरणबद्ध आन्दोलन गर्दै आएका पीडितहरू यसअघि पनि दूतावासकै कार्यालय अगाडि एकसय दिन रिले अनसनमा बसेका थिए ।

यसैबीच अनशन बसेका ६ डीभीपीडितमध्ये चेतबहादुर राउत र सीता बस्ताकोटीको अवस्था गम्भीर ह“ुदै गएको छ । १ सय ६ दिन रिले अनशन बसेपछि उनीहरूले पा“च दिनअघि आमरण अनशन सुरु गरेका हुन् ।

तथाकथित डी भी पीडितहरुका कुरा सुन्दा मलाई के लाग्छ भने यिनीहरुले आफ्नो बाटो त बन्द गरे नै अरुका सम्भावनाहरुलाई समेत कुठाराघात गर्दैछन ।
मनिसले आफ्नो आङ पहिला हेर्नुपर्छ्, जुम्रा छन कि छैनन त्यसपछि मात्र अर्काका ढाड्मा राङोले राइदाइ गरेको छ कि छ छैन बिचार गर्नु बेस् हुन्छ ।
सबै भन्दा पहिला कुरा गरौ डी भी को प्रारम्भिक प्रकृयाबाट्--
१: जब तपाईं डी भी भर्न थाल्नु हुन्छ हेक्का राख्न्नु पर्छ म सन्सारको सबैभन्दा व्यवस्थित् सरकारसङ्ग व्यवहार् गर्न थलेको छु जसले आफ्न नागरिक् तथा राखेका कानूनी आप्रवासीहरुलाई फगत् एउटो सोसल् सेक्युरिटी नम्बरले हग्दा मुत्दा समेत् बांधेर् राख्न सकेको छ। अब तपाइ कच्चा बैद्य जस्ता विग्यापनको भाषा समेत शुद्ध लेख्न नसक्ने इ डी भी कम्पानीका घन्चक्करमा पर्नुहुन्छ अथवा आँफैले डी भी शुरुमा भर्दा र पछिका तिथि मिति फरक पार्नुहुन्छ भने मोरियार्टी मोरा मरी जओस् भनेर सरापेर हुन्न, कृपया आफ्नो गल्ती पर्गेल्नुस् ।

हामी नेपालीहरु भेंडाहरु नै हो भन्ने पक्का प्रमाण दिलाउचन यि "So called and self proclaimed" DV पीडितहरु! अब अमरअन अन्सन बसेर नि कहिन विसा पाईन्छ त ?

पाइन्छ, पाइन्छ, बल भद्र जी, परलोक जाने भिसा पाइन्छ ।
अराजक देश को अराजक जनता । जांच दिएर फेल भयो भनेर बिश्व बिद्यालय को कोठा जलाउने कथित विद्वान हरुले उक्साएका आफ्नो भूल ले सबर्स्व गुमाएका पनि छन । तिनीहरु प्रती अलि अलि बाकी रहेको सहानुभूती पनि गयो ।
भिसा न दिएर ठिकै गर्‍यो जस्तो लाग्न थाल्यो, नत्र अमेरिका पनि फोकट मा खान बस्न दे, संसद मा एउटा सीट दे, आदी इत्यदि माग राखेर अनशन बस्न बेर थिएन ।
