Coming back to the thread, truth to the matter is, there are tons of players better than these English scumbags which ordinary morons fail to realize. There are players like Ayala, Cafu, Llahm, Zanetti and so on who're better than Ferdinand, Neville, Cole and Terry. The same goes with Ronaldinho, Kaka, Riquelme, Pirlo, Messi and Co who're much better than the ordinary looking yet rated highly on books types of players in the forms of Lampard, S. Wright Philips, Rooney and so on. Only one player stands out in this whole England team, Stevie Gerrard and besides him, most of them are highly overrated players nothing else! I agree with most of the points that Balbhadra made but I don't agree with the above point. Language barrier is nothing to do with highly rated player. its the talent they show on the pitch, when was the last time English Spoken player got FIFA player of the year award? Lot of Spanish, Italian, Briazilian (you have mentioned above) players are also highly rated as per the english players.

I do get pissed of when England play rubbish but I do still hope they will win the euro (if qualified). I know they are playing rubbish but they still have the potential.

Wazza is not in form now but he is always a # 1 threat to opponent. (Form is temporary but class is permanent). England is going thru a bad patch and it will all come good soon. When you compare the English players with others what were your basis? were you comparing individual players at a club level performance or national level. Rooney is a type of a player that can destroy any teams any day but the thing is, he hardly displays his skills. He's skilful, he's got speed, he's got aggression and he plays with passion, that's why he starts every game. His career stats at National Level and Club level are both needed so much to be done. He hasn't scored in a Champions League game since November of 2005 when he scored that Hat trick against Fenerbrache! I'm a huge fan of Indian Cricket team and only now have I realized that only having a potentiality doesn't count. If Indian team would've clicked all the time then they'd be invincibles, but the truth to the whole matter is, Indian team clicks once in a while. While they click together, nobody stops them, not even aussies, but most of the time, they play well below part. That's the same with English team!!!

three out of the remaining 8 teams in the Champions league is English and the core players of all of these three teams are english not imported. Therefore there is no reason to say that english players are overhyped. They have the ability to perform, but someway or the other the tactics and team effort on the pitch tells a whole different story. They should definately get through to the tournaments but they are not the favourites.
