We Nepalis have always been aggressive to India and Indians. India has always played a BIG BAD BROTHER's role not only to Nepal but to all the neighbouring countries. Despite many problems and dominating role of India to Nepal and Nepalese, there seem to some positive aspects which we could not forget.

Yes, there r countles AGREEMTNS between two countires where we are being deprived of our rights. Our land has been captured, they come and construct dyams in our land which gives electricety to them and nightmare to we Nepalis. Whole world belives Buddha was born in Nepal but Indid does not. And those Cunning people(I don wanna use the word D......) consider themselves as the smartest and think Nepalis can only make good BAHADURS.

Well, disptes and arguemnts apart, there r few things which we should not forget

First thing is entertainment, Most of us enjoy Bollywood and Indian music that does not mean that we do not like our own Nepali mucis. But what I m trying to focus is we can ENJOY Bollywood and Hindi mucis than most of the ppl around the world (of course after Indians) coz we understand Hindi well. Here, I have seen many ppl (Esp from Middle east and Latin America) trying hard to learn Hindi just to watch the movie.

Next thing, perhpas we have experienced at least once after leaving our dear Nepal. The easiest way to get job is with Indians (though the least pay and the hardest job). One of my African friends say, for u it wont be much diff to survive wherever u go coz, u wd find Indians around the world.

U believer or not, Nepalis r the least hated neighbours for Indians. Indians don like Pakis, Bengalis, Sri Lankans. once I went to Indian forumn site and asked abt their opinion abt Nepal and within a week I got more than 500 replies, most of them were really good. Many of them found Nepalis to be really hard working, trust worthy and down to earth reason might be (Perhaps we do not pounce like Pakis...even if we lose our rights-- thats sad).

I dont know how many of u r relgiou and care abt Hinduism or Buddhism (whtever u r ) but waht I found with Indians though they might be not relgiousn but when the topic comes Nepal, theier first sentecne is "Yes Nepalis r Hindus".

Well even after writing all these, I say DHOTIS suck big time, whether in politics or at work.........

Couple of yrs ago when I was in college .......I was working part time in a greek restaurant ...........It was near Harvard in Boston. In comes a couple of Indians and their American friends for lunch.............That Indian asked me where I was from because I looked mongolian.....you know ....chinky....In a Greek restaurant..
I told him I was from Nepal............He almost at once had that superior look and asked me oh you must be a sherpa who carries heavy stuff....or are you related to security providing gurkhas that he has in his house in India. I was so mad but I kept my cool because I was at work...all his friends laughed at me so I asked him where are you from........he answered.India........Oh you are a Madeshe Bhaiya who sells fruits vegetables and collects trash all around Nepal...or are you related to the Bhaiyas who are building our new house in Kathmandu????........He had a look in his face that Money cant buy.......He was offended but since his american friends sensed what was goin on they laughed and tried to changed the topic.....But the Indian started saying ....well Nepal will one day become India........Now I didnt care If I kept my Job or Not ...I went near him and told him............Do you know your history............??? Nepali people have been independent since the begenning of time and will remain the same ....It is because of the treaty that nepal is so small otherwise Nepal was much bigger. British took it from us and gave it to Indian loosers...............He asked me do I speak Hindi ?? I said I do because I am Intelligent...and I like hindi moveis and some songs ......For me Indians Are my source of entertainment ...thats it...thats why I know how to speak hindi...to take advantage of Indians...........and Before making him shutup....I told him that Indians should stop acting like they are like America of Asia.....coz they are not....
.......I left them and started working .......it happens that my boss who is an American hated Indians too....so he was listening to our conversation and he just smiled and told me to fix more gyros sandwiches. Man I hate Indians...............But I do have some very good friends who are very polite and nice...but most of them think Nepalese people as an inferrior breed or something less......I cant stand it..........Reality....Our Nepal depends almost entirely on India......even here Indians employ Nepalese with out papers.....underpaid and overworked poor Nepalese students and more......both ways we as Nepalese are screwed.................India is infact more Rich and powerful than us..........BUT I HATE THAT ...............one day when I go back I will change this.....i will make Nepal more Rich and powerful than India..............How.....By utilizing our worlds second largest Hydro power...........I will form a commitie here in the USA with all Rich and powerful people from Nepal and here and start the project...than we can buy stuff from other countries and not from India......

Maddogg... ur response about "madhise bhaiya" to that indian was great.. kinda funny... u should've also added, "or does ur father owns a motel or gas station in US" or "let me smell ur shirt and see if i can smell curry".... even we Nepali eat curry, but indians r associated with stinking smell :) ... i'm assuming that indian was probably "abcd" where dad owns a motel and son drives a BMW... i've seen lots of them... again, not generalizing anyone, some r good and some aren't.

I had the same xperience where I was with bunch of Indians. One told me that Nepalis are renowned in India as Bahadur(Watchman). I told him, "dude, if I tell u what is the position of Indian in Nepal, you will be ashamed of yourself of being an Indian."

This second event happened when I was in a College in Ohio. I was called Bahadur by this fellow Indians. Only three Nepalese; me, other guy and a girl. But the other Nepali guy was having big time sex with the most pretty indian girl in that college. There were around 15 indians (4 girls + 11 guys). One day in party, that Nepali guy had big time mess with one super smart Indian guy. Then, this Nepali guy caught his collar and showed him the punch but didnt hit him. This guy scared the shit out of him. From the next day, I started to get respect by those indian fellows thinking that they were risking thier lives.That was AWESOME dude.

Anyway I liked the idea of hydropwer. We all NEPALESE need to be UNITED together to create a NEW AND POWERFUL NEPAL.

The fact that we watch indian movies doesnot mean we have become indebted to india. We dont watch those movie for free. When we pay for tickets for hindi movie they gets money. so it is a kind of business.

Dear bidhan40, Yeah its a business, but its more than that. Its a kind of cultural occupation. When you feel proud of being dominated by Indian culture (indian songs, movies and language etc), then what's the point of branding them aggressive? Actually, we invite them to dominate us.

I think I had similar instances, with Buddha being born in India thing, Mt.Everest is in India and all sorts of things. So I stopped watching Hindi movies, saves my 3 hours and I tell them that I do not speak Hindi at all. Speak to them in English and improve on your accent, that shuts them up. It all depends on you whether you want to be associated with Indian or not. Watching Hindi movies, knowing all the new movies and actor/actress doesn't help. Don't hang around them, Chinese and other Asian will give you more respect than Indians.

I agree with you vhoote......my best buddy is a phillipino guy..........Only Indians treat Nepalese like crap...........All other Asian friends I had in school put me in the same category as they are ./...but some Indians I know would immediately act superior as soon as they find out that you are from Nepal............I hate It.

i haven't had a bad experience with an indian based on the circumstance of me being a nepali and the other being an indian. However the generalization of indian as them having the attitude of being superior to the neighboring countrymen is to some extent true.
another point to be noted is that indians tend to trust nepali more than their own countrymen.
also not watching indian movie is complete BS. you know bollywood movies is watched all over the world.
also if someone asks you if you speak hindi say yes and aslo say that you MUST curse after every other word because that is how it is in the movies. hehehe

Liked ur response to that cheap-ass. That's the exact way to treat them. I swear to God, such Indians piss the hell out of me. I agree, we can't just generalise, but a majority ARE actually the way you have mentioned. They tag Nepalis as "bahadurs" : reason:: they are big-time losers who believe our Nepali brothers are brave and bold ( as they can do no shit!). Another, they are illiterately literate people who don’t know an M of manners.Its a shame that we have to rely on them for our fundamental needs. The worst is that we have to take their help to solve our internal conflicts (like master Giri-ja the great had done last time). It’s high time that our politicians stop being their puppet. It’s high time our Nepali directors stop copying cheap Indian shit in their songs and movies that already are a bad copy from the beginning itself. Its high time, we Nepalese stop speaking to an Indian in their language and speak English instead to avoid them from feeling VAGUE superiority. Although, I have TWO good Indian friends ( between which one is an American-Indian), I hate them for many reasons. I don’t watch Indian movies and hardly listen to their songs. I just lost interest once I realized the way they look at us. Although, I understand and (I hate to mention) am capable of speaking their freaking language (thanks to my parents for letting me watch Indian channels when small ….), I NEVER speak a word in Hindi to any Indian and pretend not to know. They have just started making it so obvious, as though its our second mother tongue!
Yes, some Indians are nice and have helped Nepalese in US in a greater extent- to an extent of letting them have green cards; thanks to them! But how do most of the Indian owners treat the Nepalese at work? Majority- like shit! They take advantage and abuse you! And not forgetting, the reason they hire ( not all) is because, they can bitch about the customers at the back or hint their wickedness to you, as we poor Nepalese are all-set to understand their language. So, here we are a cheap, easy-to-dominate and easy-to-deal labors. So, instead of changing them or throwing stones at that huge country and its population that is all around the world like mushrooms in rainy season, we shud try and change our attitude! The politicians need to pay more attention to it.
The idea of strengthening Nepal with its hydropower is yet a good way to start…Although, it has turned into a fairy tale now, this one might jus be true! If the Nepalese students abroad return to their country intending to ACTUALLY do sth for the country, we will no longer have to be bear the bully……without a strong manpower, the country is helpless too.
They are wicked……..please save the country’s sovereignty!

before u start bashing indians and everything indian, you should at least yahoo search this book " the argumentative indians" by the nobel laureate amartya sen. I heard its a good book though i've not read it.

Its not the problem with indians but it is with us. We blame other without knowing the truth. It's like Americans calling labor worker to mexicans. We have lost our identity to defend our culture and nationality. So we should better make ourselves strong and stop blaming others.

Yes, I agree the problem is with us and as I have mentioned earlier instead of changing them, we need to change ourselves ( I strongly believe they CANNOT be changed...). I even hate to talk about such people who claim Nepal to be their part and are surprised to learn Nepal is a country. How'd u feel if u had to face such a situation? When u mention look at urself, I think u shud think twice. Because, the question is do u ( all ur questions above)?? If yes, then u are yet another person contributing to make Indians feel superior. If not, then I do exactly the things u do. NO Hindi songs,movies and NO NO to their language. I am seeking for an aswer ( if there is any for people like us) to not "blame" them or the "truth" like u have mentioned.
But then jus because a majority of Nepalese like Bollywood stuffs, it does not give Indians a valid reason to feel superior. My African friends are very much into Indian stuffs too. It is jus a taste in music and nothing else.......they do have some good music too...but i lost respect for everything they have!

Its not only Nepalese but the whole world that is fan of BOLLYWOOD. I dont think that is crap, shhhit and somthing like that. They make good movies and I enjoy a lot.

Feel proud that u can speak one more language (Hindi), U don have to speak in Hindi with Indians but knowing new language is always good. Though I can speak Hindi as good as Nepali, I never speak in Hindi with Indians, yes absolutely NEVER.

In Delhi Airport, the offcials try to speak in Hindi after seeing my passport, and I always reply in English "Sorry I dont understand Hindi"
