Residents of Kathmandu Valley are sissies. I can't imagine they are so ignorant and not taking part in the protests. They like to live in the comforts of their home and be mere spectators to all that's going on. I feel ashamed of being a local resident. There should be a campaign to mobilize the locals of the valley or this andolan will fizzle out. All they say is they want peace and security as if they will ever get it in this day and age when we all live in fear.

this is ridiculous! They got lives too. They got to live like us to and they deserve it. Those that dont wanna get involved in the protests are atleast not fool like those that do, I'd say. And ofcourse the youngsters and some people are taking parts in all the protests in Kathmandu but you know what, they're just idiots. The ones that are standard and intelligent dont take parts on these things because they know nothing's going to change unless the government/king does something. I dont think they have right for local citizens in Nepal to say anything or do anything so why would the residents take part in the protests, to get beat up? to die?. The ones that are taking part in protests are indeed fools who end up with nothing but injured and dead, and the ones that dont take parts in the protests are atleast trying to live peacefully in such situation. And you know what, they're better for living in comfort and having fun even in this condition.

AznshawtY, Stop talking crap. What's your point? Those millions of people on the streets around the country are idiots? Those lawyers, artists, professors, doctors, journalists are idiots. It's people like you with lesser minds that are a disgrace to democracy who don't want to contribute to uplifting the country and they think they are the good souls just talking about peace and having fun in these situations. You all don't understand the graver problem.

what I am talking is not crap, its the bitter fact! duh! And who says lawyers, professors, doctors are idiots, Im saying those youngsters and these people we see in the pictures throwing stones, fighting with the polices, burning vehicles, polluting the environment shouting who do these thinking that they'll make the country better but actually end up injuring themselves and nothing else. IF you wanna make a cxountry better, join the armies, polices, join the politics, the local residents cant just go protesting, thats just idiotic, the residents which you say dont care and live in comfort are atleast not like the other fools, they do what they're supposed to unlike the idiots protesting in streets. And its idiotic people like you wanting to harm others' properties, yourselves, bringing violence by taking part in protest and actually thinking that'll make a difference, you wanna make a difference, join the politics and do it, dont just go protesting if you're just a local citizen dumbo. These protesters cant do nothing but burst their anger by disgustingly protesting in streets. Leave it to the government and the politics. Or there's even a normal way if you want to make a country better than that way. These protesters in wanting of peace are destruction of it and are the chaosmakers. The local residents are very fine doing there own thing, leaving it up to the government, atleast they dont wanna worse the situation.

You are talking crap. 100% crap Kathmandaulis need to gear up. I phoned my home yesterday and asked them to support the protest in any way they can and if possibly by joining hand. It is the matter of life and death and we cannot be a "muk darsak". I told my mum to gather around the local women with "gagri" and go to the nearby chowk and chant for 1 hr and show your solidarity. I think Kathmandaulis are not doing as much as they can and it surely prove that they are more gyane type than poor nepali.

Protestors don't have names of their native district on their foreheads. SO, i think, we can't say that Kathmandulis are not participating in the protest.

I think this is the time where NEPAL actually can change itself, NEPAL means we all living here. And nepalese are doing right job. We cannot blame some one that they did not take part in protest. Not all are so proud and able to go to take part in, those who have they are already in it. But we have to try at least what we can do better. Not all the people can manage this thing, most due to their daily job and fear of hurt. I also have job and I have not done anything for this protest besides watching news. I know I have to support this protest against the King's steps, but I didn't find the suitable ways that currently; I can do. All people are taking part in. I appreciate the effort neplese people are doing. I hope I will support it however I can.

I say we all go to Nepal and support those fighters and get our freedom - I am flying end of this month. If we sit here and think it will change with our chanting in this forum we are all fools - Country just don't change on its' own one has to shed their blood to get the freedom - haven't we read the history of all nations. I think we are all intelligent enough to see the situation in nepal - if the people in higher post can't do the job someone has to do it - and that someone is US.

I have to agree with Aznshawty. If you see the professionals like doctors, lawyers and media people are protesting in a better way. At least there voices are being heard in comparatively less violent way. Protest involving parties has been more violent because of their attitude of buring tyres, throwing stones and so on. If they behave in non violent way i guess police will come and take them in a truck . This has happened before. In all this fighting as we have seen time and time again the innocent ones get caught. For example, yesterday six under 19 national cricket players got caught and and were beaten by police in biratnagar.

Eight days of protests and shooting and burning. Why don't I see Nepali people carrying national flags instead of party flags ? Someone told me that Nepalis can't have national flags in their homes as we have US flags. Is that the reason?

"Why don't I see Nepali people carrying national flags instead of party flags ?" Because Nepali people are fighting against those who are represented by the present national flag. If a complete revolution takes place, it will be replaced.

WHAT IF I DON"T WANT TO PROTEST ? WHAT IF I DON"T TRUST ANYONE ? OK GYANE IS GONE WHO WILL COME NEXT ? I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYONE I WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT. NOT THE FUKING POLITICIANS WHO FUKED UP THE COUNTRY(they are the ones who brought this whole MAO problem), THE MAO'S INCITING VIOLENCE IN THE NAME OF LIBERATION(dunno who the fuk they are liberating killing innocent people), OR THE OPPERTUNIST KING SITTING ON HIS FAT ASS(watching the country going down the fuking tubes).

Good stuffs so far...what i think is that we nepalese dont have same opinion overall...we dont know what we want for our country, for instance take this thread, there are people who want parties to rule the country and some want King, maoists and so on.....this is because we want our country to be like USA,australia or any other developed european countries which is never going to happen..we left nepal for studies, saw few more world and want our country to be similiar to where we live ignoring the fact that we dont have anything, its bitter but truth it is,somebody in this forum once said that he wanted USA to takeover nepal and whatever..well testo buddhijiwi lai mero namaskar...how can a person who thinks like that be called a proud nepali.Fr those guys who want country like US to take over nepal,i have a request, please never comeback to nepal, you guys can do nothing good to nepal because you will be staying in nepal always complaining that the people are not white or the highways are crap and etc....... ok that was my anger getting better of me and this is my first post in this forum and i have been watching a lot of posts over here...some very intelligent and some totally ridiculous, about people not joining the ongoing movement,to tell u the truth i wouldn't too if i was in nepal, look at this movement there are angry crowds burning the taxis and private vehicles, breaking other peoples windows, now i want to ask them what they got by doing stuffs like that?whats the point in making all this chaos?? demonstartions should be like the one done by the lawyers and other proffesionals, atleast they know what they are doing, they are the intellectual group of our country, until and unless people get a lil bit civilised nothing is going to change nepal....sorry for any mistakes.,correct me if i am wrong.
