I have lots of frens who migrated to Canada under the situation exactly the same as yours...they are doing pretty good out there....mostly in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver area....don't know what area you had in mind....unless you really wanna live here, Canada is similar to the US in almost everything...except the Canadian Dollar is a lil' cheaper...

KnightCrawler, thank you for getting back ....

If I go then it will either be Toronto or Vancouver. I have a CS degree and am not sure how difficult it is to get a job in computer field. Any idea about that???.....One of my friend had a very bad experience in finding a job in Toronto area and he finally came back to the US. I don't wanna be in the same situation coz I am sure I will not have enough money to be going back and forth.

Anyone have any similar experience???

Please check out www.notcanada.com before making any decisions. US economy is getting better, so I would suggest to stay in US.

Just my humble opinion (JMHO)

When is US economy going to get stronger? even it gets, so what? do people think Canadian economy become worse if that happen? Canadian currency is bit cheaper, it does not imply that people in US earn more. I have many contacts in US who works just for $6.00 to 7.00/hour.

And, who is that stupid MD who wrote NOT CANADA. Canada puts more value to medical practisioners, PHDs etc. if they are trained in Canada than in US. So, that MD must have got rejected in a job in Canda otherwise how come he write in such a language.

He talks about the bad weather in Canada, but what the hell is that Katrina, ... that every years kills hundreds in US. Definitely not in Canada.

And, health insurance, no permanent resident or Canadian pays a single penny for the health insurance. it's free. most of things are covered even if your are students, unlike in US where we must ask for the donations if something happens to us.

That guy attitudes sounds like he does not want to pay even a single penny for the tax . paying tax is helping yourself, helping other people who needs your help. When you get older, gov looks after you, gives a lot of money.

discrimination is high in US than in Canada. Even you are born in US, they look differently based on your faith or color, e.g. bin laden's niece feels like people do not accept her. how many black people get suffer or discrimination every year in US, is there any account of that?

Do you guys believe in that stupid Asad, MD? Decision is up to you whether you come to Canada or continue staying in US. But, such articles should be discouraged at least among Nepalese.

This is bull shit. if you live in Toronto, you on income bracket for Insurence. this law been in picture when Mcguity was MP since 2003. they will deduct from your pay check now a days and its like paying your insurence here in US.

I have friends and family who were in US but for one or another reason they went to Canada and they are literally counting days when they become Canadian citizen and can easily come back to US.
Canada has higher taxes, lower pays and it takes taxes from hard working people and gives to beer drinking and hockey watching bombs.
I have few Canadians that work in the company I work and they complain about their system.
US is definately better place to be compared to Canada. There are other better places that US, that I agree.

peace and out

I can fly... I believe....

May be you make more money in US than in Canada, but that is not the only factor that makes a country better than another one.
But if you want a more laid back life, more time to enjoy life, good health and education benefits, to be around more aware and multicultural society, then Canada is better than US. At least you don't have to see the arrogance of people with their flgas falttering everywhere from a public restroom to a state bulding.

Compared to the US, living in Canada is better in many ways except the high taxes.

i have a serious distress towards Bush, and I agree with you that Osama has a concrete plan, a plan of destructing the world, destructing the civilization. just see the example of disfacing the Buddha's murteee in Baniyan, Afigasthan during Taliban regime. we can not justify the violence even in the unjust society.

But, again I seriously hate Bush for creating violent atmosphere in middle east.

It's cold, its peaceful, not much racism, hot nepali and other girls, summer is awesome though about 4 to 5months,
the tradeoff? taxes (depends on your perception), and bills and not as high a salary as in Canada.
