How hard is the GMAT? How long does it take to prepare for it and what is the best way to do so?

It is not difficult. It's all very basic math, logic, reading comprehension and critical analysis. It's all very straight forward, and in case you didn't know it's all on computer now. The critical analysis section deals with analysis of an argument, not of an issue. There are sometimes questions that ask you how to strengthen the author's argument though, so you will actually have to think for those questions. :)

As a disclaimer though, I'm generally a good test taker. The best way I can think of to study would be to grab a Barron's or Kaplan's book and just practice the questions. After a couple practice exams yo'll do fine. Just don't be nervous about it, keep your cool and you'll perform well.

I'm in the process of going back to uni after a long time (work), hence, my feasibility study here on whether I should sit for the GMAT or GRE this April in order to apply for the forthcoming Fall session. What do you reckon?

Hey, you're a genius. So, should I go for the GRE or GMAT?

COMPUTER ADAPTER TEST IS VERY UNFRIENDLY IF YOU HAVE VISION PROBLEM. FOR ME IT DIDN'T TORN OUT TO BE GOOD. OTHER THAN THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONCENTRATE MORE ON VERBAL PART. QUANTITATIVE SECTION IS NOT THAT HARD.

There are two majors that I'm looking at. The first is the MBA with major concentration on Media Management. The second is the MA with Corporate Communications as the major.

most of the colleges require GMAT if you are seeking to get admission in business school and any sub dept tha falls under the school of business. GRE is required if you are seeking admission in the school of arts and science. It all depends upon what the uni wants!! why don't ya get in touch wih thte dept of the school that you are trying to get in and ask what they want!!!
