Hi Frenz, We (my wife and myself) had an interview at Kathmandu consulate today. After having several questions/answers, consular told us that the decision is on hold. When I asked the reason, She said that she is not able to see my petition online. She further said that she is not sure how long does it take but she hopes that it may take 1 week or so. I have the return ticket on 2nd Jan which I told her too and she just told me to transfer the ticket if possible to be in safe side. Then She gave me a paper (pink color) which says: "Your visa is refused under 221(g)........" with additional information "PIMS association." The paper has mentioned to check the status online which I did and found below while checking online: " U.S. Department of State NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION Administrative Processing Application ID or Case Number: ............... Case Creation Date: 23-Dec-2015 Status Updated Date: 28-Dec-2015 Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days " Now, I am in trouble as I have the return ticket for 2nd Jan. Had anyone gone through same situation? If yes, how long does it take to resolve and give the decision? Based on that, I can cancel/transfer the ticket. Serious suggestions please. Thanks

AP is so unpredictable. Some people have received the visa in a week while some have waited 2 months or more previously. Be prepared accordingly.

Hi Sajha keto, Your case looks normal, they will just call you within two weeks to collect visa. They are holding you because of PIMS verification as they were unable to find your information in their online database. In my opinion, you should not worry at all and just enjoy your trip back home. In addition, they did not ask for additional documentation which in a way proves that you have enough evidence for your application. Keep us posted.

My wife had same issue on December 4, and got passport back on December 15. If it is just PIMS verification, it should not take long time. Call this no 606-526-7526, Kentucky Consular Center----this is the place responsible for PIMS update. Anyway-----it should not take long time.

Thanks Ohio and Cicada. @Cicada, As I am currently in Nepal, Do I need to call KCC or my employer can call them? Did you call them? What I need to ask for as I was thinking that it is the internal process? Thanks

You can call them...but it is just for peace of your mind. If KCC says yes they have you in their system, most probably your visa issue will be solved very quickly....otherwise may take few extra days.

Hi Sajha keto it would be great if you could share any information regarding your work, basic info would be helpful. For example if you were working through recruiters or directly to the client. Is there a way to check PIMS database online? I have heard about people going to Canada for stamping, any recent 2015 experiences would be great. Anyone has any idea about the PERM processing timeline for Nepali EB3 Thanks

Mahadevi, I work at client location and there is one vendor in between. My consultancy is reputed consultancy having almost 650 consultant and their own inhouse projects as well. I did MS Computer science in US. I dont think they have made PIMS public to check online. I tried to call at the no specified by Cicada (606-526-7526) but nobody responded me. I had couple of friends who went Canada for stamping and they have good experience.

I would email KCC for verification ...Also involve a lawyer and tell them to get in touch with KCC and get updates for you. Don't forget to update us after you get the stamping.

Sajha Keto, I was working directly to the company related to my field. I talk to my employer, they contacted to attorney and whatever attorney told me was frustrating. But my employer was helpful. I am the only one H1b employee with 800 employee at all.

I had to wait for a month an half and had to give interview twice. It can take any amount of time. There is nothing you can do except wait.

Hi All, Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.....my visa issued today and got an email asking to collect the documents at NIBL Bank (Which I had selected while appointment was taken). Does anyone knows about labor department process here in Nepal? I heard that there is a thread in sajha regarding that but I was not able to find it.

Congrats Sajha Keto, Below are some threads and info regarding letters from labor ministry... They are little old, but I think they are still relevant. http://sebsonline.org/forum/forum_view.aspx?F=16&T=80748 http://sajha.com/sajha/html/index.cfm?threadid=55631 http://sajha.com/sajha/html/index.cfm?threadid=61766
