Doctor thrashed at Bharatpur hospital following death of patient

Relatives of a patient who died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, thrashed Superintendent of the hospital Dr Mahendra Raj Neupane accusing him of carelessness during the treatment.

They beat up Dr Neupane after tuberculosis and asthma patient Ramhari Samari, 45, died while undergoing treatment last night. They have claimed that Ramhari died after Neupane removed his oxygen mask saying that there was insufficient oxygen in the hospital.

The relatives of Ramhari have staged demonstration in the hospital demanding action against hospital and compensation to Ramhari's family.

Police have arrested Ramhari's son Krishnahari in connection with the incident.

The hospital has closed all the services, except emergency service after the incident.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the doctors held after the incident has demanded security to doctors expressing serious concern over the repeated attacks on the

health professionals in the recent days.
