I do not trust Maoist and their ideology neither do I trust cast or nationality based republic system for Nepal. Geographically based republic states may be best for Nepal in my opinion. I have following to say in present case. 1. It is very difficult for me to believe that Chinese will use such unsecured telephone line for such confidential conversation. I have used 128 bit secured telephone/fax for business purpose and these security devices are easily available in the market. I am not an expert on telephone encryption but please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard for further information. Here, Chinese prestiege is involved (forget about Nepal) that's why I have a doubt about it. 2. Based on voice we cant tell whether the person is Chinese or someone else. For one moment let us suppose the guy is Chinese even then we cant say he is talking on behalf of Chinese govt. (In the conversation the recorder asumes the person is Chinese and he is acting on behalf of a friend who looks after the interest of China, that is just assumption.Use of Chengdu and Hong Kong gives the impression of Chinese involvement, hey Lhasa could have been easier place for both of them than Hong Kong. 3. Did Mahara visited Hong Kong after the conversation? I don't think so 4. If both of them can talk this sort of confidential talk over the telephone why it is necessary to go to Hong Kong to see the friend of Chinese guy? Are we thinking that Mahara will bring 50 karor in a suitcase from Hong Kong or what ?? 5. Another funny thing is that so called Chinese guy on one hand is very sensitive about the visit of his friend and involvement of Chinese govt, on the other he don't hesitate to talk everything about dirty intend over the non secured telephone, sounds more like a joke. People who do this type of things are more serious about the use of open telephone line. 6. On follow up conversation it looks Maoist agreed to take money and Chinese(?) agreed to provide then why Mahara needed to meet him in Hong Kong. Why after the deal is agreed upon? 7. In the end of the interview Mahara seems to accepts the conversation had indeed happened but this may be because of the guided projection in our brain.

@_______ can you please clarify what you mean by " In the end of the interview Mahara seems to accepts the conversation had indeed happened but this may be because of the guided projection in our brain"? What caused you to doubt that Mr. Mahara didn't accept that the conversation had indeed happened? As far as I could tell, Mr Mahara admitted to it. I don't see how anyone could be confused about that.

OK, my points are based on Nepal news interview. I haven't watched other interviews if there are any.In the end of the interview Mahara says my cellphone is from Nepal Telecom and it has no recording facilities. It implies if not Nepal telephone someone else must have recorded it, This implies that conversation indeed took place, secondly he also says almost in the middle of the interview that why they didn't published at the time it did happened(if it had happened) this also indirectly implies that Mahara had such conversation. Firstly, we forget that we are grabbing only those part which suits the purpose, we forget that in the beginning he denied it. Secondly we are trying to be judge here.In US before detaining someone police recite "whatever you say here can be used against you and you have right to use lawyer and right to remain silence". In general people say what they think is self understood but different people dig out different meaning of it that is why while saying soemthing to police arrested people seek the help of a lawyer. Although Mahara can be a intelligent person for some people for me he is just a ideologically confused person so taking out whatever suits my purpose can be dangerous. While judging or analysing what he says I dont want to be biased I will try to see both sides of the coin. Lastly point is we Nepali get carried away very easily, la telephone record garyo bhanera post garna saath hamiley turunta biswas garna khojchhau we don't carefully analyse it.and whatever we see after that we automatically try to relate to the original claim. I hope i made myself clear and by the way that Mahara guy is not related to me and any of my family in our recorded history.

@_____ Thanks for clarifying that. I was just curious to know what your thought process was. I am sure that you aren't supporting anyone, you are just trying to analyze the situation without being biased.

The interview of Mahara in Nepalnews is kind of confession. Because
1. He initially says that in these people can add different speech of him to make a whole conversation like the one we hear. It means he admits that the voice was his. It is just that he is saying even though what we hear is his voice, they were synthesized from different sources.
The other two confessional statement (who is recording his voices and that why his statements were not published when they took) were two other confessions.
I don't like Indians, but the conversation in deed took place.
Mahara and company are stupid, and they are willing to sell the country to any A, B, and C. They are stupid or superconfident, and that is why they are getting trapped. Prachanda's shaktikhor video showed how superconfident he was in speaking those words...jerk.

DAMN This guy is really really stupid. Around 3:38He asked why they (group ) leaked this conversation at this moment ? why they did not published exactly after the conversation was done. ( I guess conversation was happened during 3rd or 4th round of election.) Around 8:40He clearly admits that the conversation was happened from his phone. As the tapping technology is not installed in Nepal Telecom so he wants to know who (person or agency) is behind that phone tapping or recording. As he was concerned about tapping and try to find that is it installed in NTC or not ? But as rid says " If Prachande chor ko asliyat ko video cannot change the mind of stupid nepalese majority, what do you expect an audio tape is going to do? nothing!"
Nothing will change in our country.

Anyone in the related field know if it is really possible as yet to simulate the voice so well using computer technology?
In Nepal, anything like this happens the leaders always seem to make excuses saying "These days you can do any things like that easily with computers." Really?

HowardRoark bro, I have seen few ads on the net relating to such technology. I think that is the software you use. I have no idea how genuine or legit the software is. Or how possible it is.
