All,
Me,like many other people who r related with Chicago Nepali pariwar got an email from Admin today about CNP going to be dissolved . It was already a shame in chicago to have more than one nepalese association to represent handful Nepalese living in Greater Chicago Area and now the termination of one of the oldest Nepalese association in US doesnot really seem right.
Please help me identify problems that any comittee or specifically speaking,CNP is having. This is what I came up with.
Any organization despite of the size should require people to be accountable for their position. Is there accountability in CNP??? There is no accountability but the greater question is whom to be accountable for?We as immigrants should always be accountable towards our roots. Is that happening in Chicago-----NO!!
Any organization should have definate goals and time frame to reach them. CNP's problem is not not having goals but having those which cannot be accomplished in a time frame or having those which are not possible to be attained by small community organization like CNP. you got to be kidding me when you talk about inter country rail system in Nepal and be unable to organize a gettogether event. So the whole thing seems phoney.
I think the main problem CNP is having is lack of respect from local participation.
I think its time increase participation from the community by setting goals that relate to the community and uniting the neplese living in Chicago under one umbrella.
