Gachchhadar not to settle for anything less than DPM

Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) parliamentary leader Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has said he must get the post of deputy prime minister with home ministry in the UML-led new cabinet.

Gachchhadar repeated his claim over the senior cabinet post during a meeting with Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala Thursday morning.

Gachchhadar met Koirala amid reports that the NC president had advised Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal not to appoint anybody as DPM. Sources said the MJF leader threatened to withdraw support to the government he were not made DPM.

Gachchhadar has been at loggerhead with the party establishment after insisting that the MJF should join the government under his leadership.

In a bid to avert a possible split, MJF central committee recently decided to send both Gachchhadar and party chairman Yadav to the government. nepalnews.com June 04 09

काठमाडौं, २२ जेठ (नागरिक) - परराष्ट्र मन्त्री सुजाता कोइरालाले दाङमा भारतीय पक्षले नेपाली सीमा मिचेको नपाइएको बताएकी छिन्। भारतीय राजदूत राकेश सूदसँग शुक्रबार आफ्नै निवास महाराजगन्जमा भेटेपछि कोइरालाले सन्चारकर्मीमाझ स्थलगत अवलोकनमा गएका सरकारी अधिकारीहरुबाट सीमा मिचेको तथ्यलाई खन्डन भएको बताइन्।

भेटपछि भारतीय राजदूत राकेस सुदले दाङ, बारालगाएतका जिल्लामा भारतीय पक्षबाट नेपाली नागरिकलाई विस्थापित नगरिएको दाबी गरे। सञ्चारकर्मीकझ जिज्ञासामा राजदूत सूदले भारत र नेपालको राम्रो नहोस् भन्ने तत्वले विस्थापितको हल्ला फैलाएको आरोप लगाए।
"नेपाली जनता भारतीय पक्षबाट विस्थापित भएका छैनन," राजदूत सूदले भने, "केही राजनीतिक दल र व्यक्ति नेपाल भारत सम्वन्ध बिगार्न दुष्प्रचारमा लागेका छन्।"

उनले कसले हल्ला फिजाएको भन्ने जिज्ञासाको भने जवाफ दिन अस्वीकार गरे।

परराष्टमन्त्रीको कार्यभार ग्रहण गरेकै दिन राजदूत सूदले मन्त्री कोइरालालाई उनकै निवासमा पुगेर भेट गरेका हुन्। कोइराला मन्त्रिपरिषद्‍को बैठक छोडेर राजदूत भेट्न निवास मण्डीखाटारमा पुगेकी थिइन्।
