Is it because

1) They are eating better diet?
2) Of democracy introduced in 1990?

Do you have any dependable statistics or survey results to support this claim? Reports from World Bank, UN, and Nepal government suggest that there has been really good progress in reducing infant and maternal mortality rates, and increasing average life expectancy after the introduction of democracy in 1990. However, I don't see a direct correlation of teenagers' height with democracy though. This will be an interesting find if you could share the source of information.

I don't have any statistics. This is just my observation. My observation is that Nepali teenagers in Nepal these days are taller than what they were say 20 years ago (before).

More milk available.  Watch Go-Go Power Rangers cartoon when young  instead of carrying Doko load.
I guess nowadays Nepalese kids are taller but becoming more "softer".

The answer: GM foods.
They can be tall, but the side effect of the society consuming higher GM foods are newer form of diseases like in the US. Slowly people will start getting Alzheimer and other unheard diseased that are common in the West, along with rise in obesity.

My grandfather was 5'11, my father is 5'10 and I am 5' 11...

I think, your question depends on  your height.  By the way, how tall are you?

It wasnt very long ago that I was a teenager, I am 5' 8", but my older brother and older cousins are towering me at 6' and 6' 2". My younger cousins all are shorter than me around 5' 6".
My dad is 5' 11" and so are my two uncles.

Your statistics does not reallly match to my family.

in my personal observation, use of drugs in teen age will increase their height. i am not talking about beer or local tharra.......... that is my personal observation. badhi height and sukeko hip. i think you understand.

balance diet special minerals (calcium and vitamin D, phosphorus etc) and sports are helping in increasing heights in general. you see Viva, horlicks.......etc.
