Use Gimp crop the picture at first which u click from camera such that the height and width is same. And then just change the image size to 600*600 pxs. its easy to use gimp if u have used photoshop in past. If not, then there are lot of tutorials available to resize and crop the pictures in Gimp. u can google for that. Probably it will require just 10 min to read tutorial and resize ur pic.

Just use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It is usually under Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools.
Open your photo and go to picture -> Crop.
Then you can slide the black thing on the border to select the area to crop.
Good Luck

.Open your photo with photoshop. Then, crop the image so that you end up with 600x600 pixels. It's that simple. If you're still confused, find someone near you who knows how to use photoshop or image editing software. It only takes a few seconds to do.
