The breaking sad news that a nepali doctor from chicago on his way to a job interview in pennsylvania was chased by the police for speeding and to his bad luck hit a motorcyclist and fled the scene. He was charged with homicide and other multiple charges. This is a very very sad story. http://mysansar.com/ http://kdka.com/local/Turnpike.crash.arraignment.2.810692.html

How stupid one can get? Fled from the scene of an accident? And he calls himself a doctor? And then he hid in the woods??
Let it be a lesson for you guys and gals. First of all do not speed, second, if cops try to stop, stop for heaven's sake! It seems like this doctor was a moron.

And what is up with 'solitude'? Is Solitude a voyer? Why is he/she so interested in other people's misfortune?

Husband requests leniency for drunken driver who killed his wife
Posted: Aug. 21, 2008 Updated: Aug. 22, 2008
Raleigh, N.C. — The husband of a bicyclist killed on the road made an emotional plea for leniency for the former North Carolina State University student accused of hitting his wife with a truck while driving drunk.
Brian Anthony Reid, 21, was charged with felony death by motor vehicle and driving while impaired in the April 23 death of Nancy Leidy. Reid pleaded guilty to both felony charges as part of a plea agreement Thursday.
Leidy, 60, died after Reid's truck hit her while she was riding on Nazareth Street near the N.C. State campus.
During Reid's sentencing hearing, Leidy’s husband, Ross Leidy, described his wife as a giving, caring and an outgoing woman.
“I want people to know what this woman was all about and talk from his heart, which I think he (Reid) would do,†Ross Leidy said in court Thursday.
Ross Leidy said part of him wanted Reid to go to jail, but thought the student could do more good talking to fellow students and working with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to help others learn from his mistake.
“I think this kid would do a lot more good talking and telling about what’s happened to his life and what’s happened to my life as opposed to sitting in jail,†Ross Leidy said.
“Like Mr. Leidy said, I think, I can have a greater impact on the outside talking with people and sharing my experience,†Reid told the judge.
During a break in the court proceedings, Leidy also extended a hand of friendship to the Reid family.
Judge Don Stephens sentenced Reid to 36 months' probation and 400 hours of community service, which includes 100 appearances at high schools in Wake or Alamance counties to talk about the dangers of drunk driving.
But its too late in his case. Chapter closed

So sad to hear the tragic accident of a nepalese doctor. It is clear the doctor is in fault and he owes the punishment for his mistakes.
Other thought : Perhaps, his rest of the active life will be in jail - means wastage of all his knowledge that could do wonders in treatements of thousands of other people. By any chance, if he can be deported to Nepal (or say to a remote corner of Nepal, where no doctors shows up) as a part of his punishment instead of barring him in a jail here in the USA, it could save a lot of people who are struggling for life in absence of proper treatement there. We need so many doctors in our remote areas and here one of our doctor is going to be jailed for his momentary stupidness. I am not sure if this makes a sense, but hope he would find ways to minimize damage in his life.

I am not going to answer your question, but I have a question to you.
Recently koshi flood took away lots of life and property. If I asked if there is any further updates on Koshi flood then, would that mean I am very much intrested or enjoying the misfortune of those people??
How dare you think that I am intrested/enjoying the misfortune of Dr. Acharya. Showing intrest does not mean only for negative, you need to wake up dude. Remember nobody would like to borrow such a trouble but misfortune and lack of sense at the very point of time results such a bizzare incident. Its true that he did a huge mistake/crime but it happens that people sometimes lost control of their mind and everything goes terribly wrong and he had been the victim of that, so it doesn't worth criticising him or giving stupid comments againts him.

Solitude is exctly right on this matter.
If any friend of Dr Shiva is reading this thread, please dont ignore him or his phone calls. Definitely it costs more while responding him but a small help can be 'great' for his future.

One of my relative recognized him to be student of IOM and was abatch junior. They were also schocked and surprised . But yea, he is NEPALI and he did study in IOM.
I am much worried about his parents and esp his wife. I will be praying for her, cause she is the one who is most punished.

Sayami dai and Chana ji.
Dr Acharya is a Nepali. He stayed in Philadelphia for a month before joining residency with a friend of mine, who is another Nepali doctor. Dr saheb told me that Dr Acharya was his junior in TU Medicine campus (Maharajgunj). He is extremely talented person with excellent academic records throughout. He was one of the SLC board toppers in his batch and and did MBBS with distinction. He scored more than 96% in all the exmaminations to get into residency program in USA.
May be due to his personal problems or stress, he was unable to do right decision on right time. What had happened to him was quite unfortunate. Lets hope for his best. God Bless Him !!!

Rahul dai,
After knowing more about Dr. Acharya, I felt even sad than before. Extremely unfortunate accident. I felt my previous opinion is relevent more than before. So I repeat :
Perhaps, his rest of the active life will be in jail - means wastage of all his knowledge that could do wonders in treatements of thousands of other people. By any chance, if he can be deported to Nepal (or say to a remote corner of Nepal, where no doctors shows up) as a part of his punishment instead of barring him in a jail here in the USA, it could save a lot of people who are struggling for life in absence of proper treatement there.
