Probably many of the Sajha friends have recently applied or are applying for the Green Card in US.
Could you please share your experience about the tentative costs for it?

there is no filing fee for labor certification. There are fees for advertisement of the jobs.
Once your LC is approved. The cost for green card will still be the same.

Sorry
Once your LC is approved, the employer will file petition which is I-140.
The fee for I-140 is 475. Once your I-140 is approved, you will have to pay the same amount 1010 total for GC.

The company I work for has said the costs would be around $12,000 including the lawyer's fee of $7,000 ($5000 for LC and $2,000 for GC application) altogether. This does not include advertisement cost nevertheless, which is said to be around $2,000 for at least 3 ads in the newspaper.
This seems too exorbitant, right!
