What's up ?? How was the DJ party on thursday in Balitmore. Heard few people showed up but it was better than the ANA dj party on Saturday. The sound system was better on thrusday and no long lines or no rude cops around to bully nepali's.

It certainly will be a better ANA party in SF. Cause there won't be too many "I know it all" kindda peps in Cali. Sound system will be better, cause there won't be last minute decision to rent the sound-system

If it wasn't for the Local DJ's in Maryland, ANA's concert and DJ night would have failed. The DJ"s had to go to their home and bring their personal speakers to hook up during the DJ night and they used those speakers on Concert night too..

Thanks to da Local DJ"s for saving Pathetic ANA"s arse again.

Hopefully they will pay them for their system...... and saving their face..

k ho?? koi pani gayena dj party ma??? where is everyone?? need some feedback so that the people in San Fransisco can do it better next time. I heard Baltimore was trying to beat LA for creativity and stuff, but Baltimore fell short in proving it can do better than LA and now next year is SF.

Looking at the ratio West Coast has done a good job, compared to NY/NJ in 06' and Baltimore in 08' and LA 07' was better show but poor security and judgement of the organizer's; now SF in 09'. Hoefully in 2010 when it is back in East Coast, we as EastCoaster's can do a better job next time.

 

Chor, don't be complaining about the DJ equipment when you yourself stole the mixer from the venue and hid it inside your car (no wonder the DJs there didn't know what they were doing)...We were fortunate that the security stopped you from stealing the speakers too!!  Hey, what else did you steal from the venue, Mr. Chor??    BTW, My boxers went missing from my room.  Anyone know who took it or rather "stole" it??

yeah!! I was trying to steal those speaker's but I found out they were crappy, no wonder the sound was so bad... so I decided to get away with the mixer.. poor dj's were left with 2 CDJ's only to play with without a mixer LOL...

By they way I say a stray dog wearing your Kattu... it had your name in big letter's like those victoria secret ladies kattu where it say's pink and hot and what not....

Keep these ANA threads alive. so we can ask the ANA organization to visit sajha and let them see what people are talking about in the internet.

I went to check the hall Friday afternoon and I was stunned to see two pairs of 15" EV speakers on both sides(L-R) and one pair of 15" EV subs. I told Dj D that this will not be enough for Dj Nite and he brought in a pair of 15" Mackies for the Dj Nite. Thanks Dj D.

I personally use 4 powered 15" JBL and 2 powered 18" subs during private Dj parties for 200-400 people.

How can one use six 15" speakers for a crowd of 800+ people? Sound clarity was terrible. I saw nice moving heads & scanners hung on truss on both sides of the hall but I did not see them being put to work during DJ Nite. Another thing that bugged me was while I was djin; twice the Dj system went into power off mode. Later it was found out that someone amateur plugged two Dj systems into one power outlet. Whoever was in charge of sound system & lights during this years ANA should be banned from such responsibility in the future.

DJ night sucked.. big time.. I was there for less than an hour, couldn't stand the sound system. However, I enjoyed watching a cute elderly couple dancing. The guy was so drunk and he was trying to get his wife to dance with him but she looked embarrased. It was quite funny and adorable at the same time.

I think last year ANA in LA have best sound system ever seen in nepali program

I moved out of MN like 2 years back. Dj parties were fun in MN since the crowd out there was mostly students and chilled out. This Friday spinnin @ a party in downtown San Francisco.

           After you called me, I too went downstairs to check the system, I was stunned to see couple of JBL's standing, I asked the guy responsible for the lights and sound and I was told by that person, Don't worry bhai, we will bring some more speakers for the DJ night.

           After that I got busy with that Fashion Show, I hated myself for being a part of that show(pushy people), I didn't get to do anything for 2 day's. That Fashion Show messed up everything for DJ night.

I thought someone was going to design the clothes and show off, all the models brought their own clothes from the house to wear for that day.
Somebody should have asked Prabin Gurung to design some clothes for these people.

CaseyinDC and EVERYONE I am sorry that you guy's waited in line for hours and finally when you got in sound system was wack. Come to ANA next year, Harkay is going to do it in San Fransisco, it will be lot organized and systematic than what we did in Maryland. I apologize for the bad experience you all had to go through. We didn't get to do the sound system check due to that FASHION SHOW.

Next Year no fashion show, 2 nights dance parties with cultural show, and 1 night Concert. If there is a popular demand for a dance party after the concert, we will do it on the last day too. BUT I hope all of you understand what the situation was. I am going to say sorry again from all my fellow dj's side. It was an embarassment for all of us.

Caseyindc, it's time to bring the Funk back to DC. Tell your fren's we gonna do a party in DC in a month. Right behind Verizon Center.

P.S. By the way Harkay the dj duo from baltimore Kapil & D brought 6 speakers on DJ night and brought 4 more speakers and one Wireless Mic for the Concert.

The sound guy (tech) is like God when it comes to big shows like ANA dj nights...

No matter how good the djs are, without a good sound tech guy hooking up the soundsystem so the ouput is crisp... and hopefully good lighting to create the mood along with the beautiful beats, it will be impossible to have a successful night...

It is too bad, things did not work out. Good luck with San Fran 09!
