regarding cost, i know that the bill of c-section can reach even 15,000 dollars. in my case, i don't have insurance as it was not planned. but i applied for financial assistance in a hospital and need to pay maximum 1000 dollars from my side, the remaining would be paid by emergency medicad. regarding types of test, they do urine and blood test in every visit, and ultrasound may be 2-3 times, pap smear test and some other tests. hope this helps.

Friendlysis Ji,
Badhai cha hai..... I can help you 100% gurantee heehee
1) I bought some books when I was preagnant. My baby is 8 months now. That book will help you a lot. Just email your mailing address and I will mail it to you.
2) Tell me the name of your insurance(examples- Metro plus, Affinity or what). I will find out how it works.
3) CONFIRM one more time with medical labs. If you are preagnant for sure, I believe you need to apply different insurance. Most important thing is you need to apply for your baby. In my case, I got my son's insurance card when I was 2 months preagnant. So cute, they wrote his name as Shreejana- Unborn Infant.
4) Eat, Drink water and Sleep well.
5) Most important - BE HAPPY :) Life is really beautiful with baby.

I do not want to trying to spread a hoax message in Sajha and kill time of everybody...I am serious and seeking help becuase I did not get experinced ladies to share here with...as this is first time pregnanacy in this new country...I asked for help from most probably those that have experience...
I really appreciate suggestions from sijupanta, rukmini, manshree and others...Thanks for giving number...I will sure call you if there is complication in future as it goes...at the moment I just need to confirm first....
Sijupanta, how can I apply for baby insurance ahead? Is that governmental support or other type of insurance? I have already mentioned above I have insurance that covers 50-80% of the cost..

I think these may be useful. Top 10 signs of pregnancy
If you're extremely tuned in to your body's rhythms, you may
begin to suspect you're pregnant soon after conception. But most women
won't experience any early pregnancy symptoms until the fertilised egg
attaches itself to the uterine wall, several days after conception.
Others may notice no signs of pregnancy for weeks and begin to wonder
"Am I pregnant?" only when they miss a period. Below is a list of some
of the first signs of impending motherhood. You may experience all,
some, or none of these symptoms of pregnancy:
1. Food cravings. Yes, it's a cliché, but food cravings sometimes can
be a sign of pregnancy. Don't rely on them as a sure symptom (it may be
all in your head, or even a sign that your body is low on a particular
nutrient), but if cravings are accompanied by some of the other
symptoms on this list, start counting the days from your last period.
2. Darkening of your areolas.
If the skin around your nipples gets darker, you may have successfully
conceived, though this may also signal a hormonal imbalance unrelated
to pregnancy or be a leftover effect from a previous pregnancy.
3. Implantation bleeding or cramping. 3. About eight days after ovulation, you may experience implantation spotting,
a slight staining of a pink or brown colour, as well as some cramping.
This is caused by the egg burrowing into the endometrial lining. You
might also see some spotting around the time you expect your period.
4. Frequent urination. Once the embryo implants and begins producing the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), you may find yourself going to the bathroom more often.
5. Fatigue. Feeling
tired? No, make that exhausted. High levels of the hormone progesterone
can make you feel as if you've run a marathon when all you've done is
put in a day at the office. Fatigue is a hallmark of early pregnancy, though probably not a surefire symptom on its own.
6. Tender, swollen breasts.
If you're pregnant, your breasts will probably become increasingly
tender to the touch, similar to the way they feel before your period,
only more so. Once your body grows accustomed to the hormone surge, the
pain will subside.
7. Altered sense of taste.
You may notice that your sense of taste changes. Some women say they
have a metallic taste in their mouth, others that they cannot stand the
taste of coffee, tea, or a food they usually like.
8. Morning sickness. If you're lucky, morning sickness
won't hit you until a few weeks after conception. (A lucky few escape
it altogether.) But as early as a couple of days following conception,
you may begin feeling nauseated and queasy. And not just in the
morning, either -- pregnancy-related nausea can be a problem morning,
noon, or night.
9. A missed period. If you're usually pretty regular and your period is late, it's worth trying a pregnancy test. A missed period is the surest sign of pregnancy in a woman of childbearing age who usually has regular periods.
And finally ...
10. A positive home pregnancy test.
If you've waited to test until at least the first day of a missed
period and a blue line appears in the test window, you're most likely
to be in the family way. Make an appointment with your doctor to
confirm the good news, and head on over to our pregnancy area.

friendlysis, You have to apply for medicaid. In my baby's case it was through county health department. If you fall within the income range needed to qualify for medicaid, then I'm sure your baby will get it. It might depend on which state you are in. In some states you have to have income below 41K, in some 31K, and as one of my friends in Utah said that they have to fall below 19K. One more thing, why don't you apply for MOMS-medicaid for yourself. If you get MOMS-medicaid, you won't have to pay a single penny for any tests, medicines, doctor visits or any stuffs related to pregnancy. However, it is difficult to get medicaid if you are not a GC holder or a citizen, but still some people manage to get it. Sparty

sparty and friendlysis, i live in utah and i know that the income range to qualify for medicaid is not 19K, it is higher than that. those who do not have green card can get the facility of emergency medicaid which pays the expenses of delivery but not the prenatal visits and tests. emergency medicaid and medicaid are different things. medicaid is for the citizens and emergency medicaid is for non-residents or non-citizens.
