KATHMANDU, May 8 - A day after newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood called on Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, the Indian envoy conferred with CPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda on Thursday.
Ambassador Sood and Prachanda discussed the formation procedures of the next government, possible coordination among the political parties and the anticipated meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
The Maoist Chairman is learnt to have told the Indian envoy that consultations are underway with the political parties on political alliance.
The meeting between the Indian Ambassador and the Chairman of Maoist, which has secured maximum number of seats in the CA, comes at a time when some Indian senior leaders are stressing on the formation of a coalition government in Nepal.
Only yesterday, Indian ambassador Sood discussed the latest political in Nepal and the formation of the next government with Prime Minister Koirala.
During the meeting, the PM is learnt to have enquired about India’s view if the next government is headed by thee Maoist leadership.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that PM Koirala has intensified discussions with foreign diplomats so as to get the international community’s view while the Maoist has been claiming the leadership of the next government
