All Eyes On The Polls, Artists Join The Fray
With the much anticipated CA Elections less than ten days away, political parties have intensified their respective campaigns with much gusto; all claiming to emerge victorious from their respective constituencies. However what is disheartening is the fact that all faces seem to be the same from the previous incompetent political leaders who many claim are the ones responsible for the current state of affairs. The tall claims that the Constituent Assembly Elections will bring a new dawn in the political history of Nepal sounds rather cliché but the forever optimistic Nepalis that we are, we believe in everything that brings us a small ray of hope.
What is interesting to note however is the fact that political parties have finally realized the importance of giving the youth a platform to represent themselves in the decision making bodies. For this to materialize and in many ways to serve their own personal vested interests, leaders have resorted to garner support from some of the most popular artists in the country. With the inclusion of Shri Krishna Liutel and Nalina Chitrkar already confirmed for the proportional representation system, reports have just come in that others joining the band wagon with their candidacies include pop icon Nima Rumba, Nabin K. Bhattarai, Deepak Bajracharya and Sugam Pokhrel. Click Here for their detailed election manifestos and their respective parties under which they are contesting.
