Hello friends,

Which is the best suburb around Baltimore that is safe to raise kids, affordable, easily accessible to downtown Baltimore, and convenient for doing grocerties and other shopping.

Thanks.

Are you kidding me..Baltimore is NOT a good place to raise kids period but if you do not have an option Columbia or Elicott City will be your best option..

Good Luck

It's an oxymoron statement: 'Baltimore' and 'safe' words never come together. I agree with Himalaya too - Columbia, Elicott City are your best choices.

Dudes,

I have heard that Baltimore is very expensive, give me some figures you smart A$$es.

Only serious comments please.....

Big cities are never safe to raise kids, but every cloud has a silver lining.

Baltimore is unsafe if you work odd jobs at odd hours, like night shift in gas stations, or if the workplace is at a ghetto. But otherwise, its pretty much like any other big cities, except that Baltimore has a large black population.

Some places to consider: Towson, Pikesville, Glen Burnie, --all by the beltway and not too far from downtown. I believe the rental cost for a two-bed room in those places should be at least 1000. You might find cheaper ones though.
