Does anyone know if we can get H1B approved as an independent contractor? I have a job offer from a University but they are going to hire as an independent contractor. I am not sure if USCIS approves H1B prtition for an independent contractor position.
All views will be highly valued.

A person on an H1B cannot work as an independent
contractor since H1B implies an employee. Only with an EAD is a person
allowed to work freelance or as an independent contractor,
generally.
