Man All these choices and subdivisions is making this site look really clustered.

Need to keep it simple and eye pleasing.

Just tried to open up a thread and had to go through sooo much crap.

One of the reasons I used to like Sajha was that Mix of people and their coments whether it be intelligent of full of crap.

It was the diversity and the different opinions that was refreshing.

Now thread owners delete coments at their whim, have to post my coment in the right section ...blah blah blah

Which makes me NOT Wanna post anything if people are going to censure it anyway.

Its like DOOOUKWASHI GONE WRY.

Whatever happened to sajha-lite? As far as I remember, there used to be one, the light version of sajha.com.

we definately need a Lite version of sajha..  it used to be Lite.sajha.com

i dont know if it works now.

Im now going to call sajha HongKong bazaar... full of ads and cheap looking graphics everywhere.

This ownership of threads is infringing upon free speech.

If you keep Ducktaping everyone's mouth pretty soon you will have an empty sajha.

It is very important to include evry Nepali to have his say.

So that people feel inclusive and not exclusive.

 

The bright colors used on the ads make it worse. IMO sajha is no longer a site to have fun.

i totally agree too.. i visit sajha regularly even i dont post often ... what i realize is from past few months.. its been like maze.. trying to figure out where to look for stuffs... and its not very comfortable to eyes either...plus i agree on the fact that BC has laid out..

If the owner can delete the post whever he/she wants then prolly it would best to open a new thread by every single person who wants to put their opinion or reply to any thread so that it wont get deleted and heard by everyone..

i also agree that sajha has become very cluttered in the past year. the main page layout is not user friendly . but the admin has to be given credit for all the hard work. we can all understand the huge task of revamping the site. most likely a resource issue. without streaming revenue or help from volunteers it will definitely be an uphill task, i think, to manage a site like sajha. or maybe something is already cooking?

Can we only have the scrolling Banner on the main page ?

Esp when @ work makes it an obviuos web page rather than a word doc(easier to disguise).

 

Is anything going to be done about censuring free speech on the threads ?

Ownership of threads is like privitizing free speech. You can say what you want but we(threadowners) will decide if its ok ey or not?

People who want to control their threads can come drip me too while I am taking a piss.

i realy love the current things san bro has done :oD...i still dunno why i find it much neater and cleaner than before..well when i 1st experienced the change i guess it did feel a bit weird..but wat can i say?i do like to adapt quickly esp if its warranted or when i feel the change is good?

didnt realise the sajha lite option is gone..i reckon havin that option def helps..and as for the scrolling bar..u can block it using the adblock(if ur using firefox)..tho i just found out just a moment...cant block it completely!;oP..i see some whitish object moving along the top!i see "dead" banners?

Some Body Please stop that Stupid Hongkong bazaar's scrolling banner !!!!!!!!

Here's my take on Sajha "hongkong bazar" .

I dont like it. There are lots of people who dont like it.

The admin knows this, but because there are so many sajha visitors who do not have  even the basic knowledge relating to the internet which they use everyday, handful  
of us raising issue is not going to make difference, and the admin is going to get  
away with it.
If I may predit, it will only go bad.

Honestly guys, there are tens of millions of sites in the internet, and all of them are competing for your attention. Sajha is gone commercial and now its just like our typical "Nepali" immigration lawyer, or a "Indian" restaurant you go
looking for your first job. You go there because  you think they are one of yours and you feel comfortable, but you are more likely to be abused in the hands of Nepali
 or Indians than others.

I say f** it!! if it bothers you, dont visit. There are plenty of sites you will like, you just need to find it.
Or you can be a little proactive like me  and do  this:


1) download OPERA BROWSER from  www.opera.com.
This is a great brower, extremely customizable,almost as good as firefox and the download should take less than 2 mins for cable subscribers, and about (I'm guessing
 here as Ihavent used dialups in years) 20 mins for
dialup users.

2) After installing, go to your beloved sajha website  full of ads.

3)now, find a blank spot  anywhere on the site webpage and simply write click the mouse.

4)you will see BLOCK CONTENT on the list after the right mouse click.

5) CLICK ON "block content"

6)Next, simply click on all the ads and images you dont want to see, and click on
 the "done" button  when done.

thats all you need to do.

I havent seen sajha ads in months :). The day I cant block this maize of ads, I will stop visiting here.

additional info: TO STOP THE MOVING BANNER, SIMPLY DISABLE THE ACTIVE JAVA SCRIPT
BY CLICKING:   TOOLS  -->QUICK PREFERENCES -->  un click ENABLE JAVA SCRIPT.
if you want to write posts, you will need to write in your username and password. You will need to able the javascript to do this.So after signing in, simply diable it again.

Do not use INTERNET EXPLORER. Its very bad for privacy .
That brower is huge, hacker-attack prone, and you leave your trails all over the internet when you surf with it.

and yeah that celebrations restaurant and bar above..............i went for surprise visit to review for my upcoming food and wine magazine. Just wait to see the review. It ended up getting 2 star out of 5. Service was terrible. The sound from dance restaurant was unbearable. I rather love to go to everest mo mo 1000 times than celebrations.
Specially i have also realized with new sajha breed very rude and manner less. No wonder colleges hire me to teach hotel management coz they need dada cum teacher.

why we go to patan durbar square for peero aalu. You can get aalu better anywhere but we love those hands marinating potatoes since we where kids.
You know why we go to everest mo mo waiting in queue for bloody mo mo. It is due to that same old stools where you have to share and squeeze the space.
you know hey we go to That samosa palace in New Road. It is simple because they have been serving as it is in dirty neighborhood with same old tapari for last 9 yrs and more.
You know why we go to freak street for authentic newari food because that old fellow still wears dirty t-shirt and shorts which we have been seeing since bunking school days
You know why we go to that small gali Chamena Ghar of Kathmandu Gansesthan coz they still have same bench and low ceiling where you have to check your head all the time

In Hospitality Trade, something has to remain as it is other wise they loose charm. For example i still think best galwmari ( newari donuts) is from kasthamandap. i have been eating it since i was 4 yrs old and the guys has been using same hand for last 25 yrs. it may look  unhygienic but it is the flavor.
Something has to be same .........they have no explanations.

anyways getting hungry thinking of chatamari place in next to kathmandu ganesthan..........chow chow..making my way there

I almost got caught at work. ESP if you are in KURAKANI trying to post CAN WE JUST HAVE A TEXT PAGE AND NOT THAT JILIIIIMILIIII CALCUTTTA KO BAZAAR JUSTOO.

THE WEB PAGE REMINDS ME A AN INDIAN RICKSHAW WITH THE THRILLS AND FILLS

LET KEEP IT SIMLE LIKE OUR DAAL BHAAT AND TARKARI, NO need for Biryani, Tadooori, or Machali.

Fk....I hate those ads, especially those scrolling ads. I have found a solution, similar to what eyefusion suggested. This is for those using Firefox. It's a relatively straight forward and saves you some headaches.

1. Download Adblock Plus (link below) install it.
-https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
2. Then, right click on adds and click on Adblock image. Click 'ok' on the window that pops up. Block EVERY GOD DAMN ADS thats on the site.
3. You are done!
