what you can do is take one of the cargo planes to Shanghai (you should volunteer and help them to load stuffs, and they will charge you $200 the most for upto shanghai...FEDEX alone has around 120 flights from China and back. and then from there, get a train to Khasa ($50+ $20 food). you are in NEPAL!!! another $4 and you are in KTM. Trip to Nepal under $500 bucks... how's that? A friend of mine did that once and he wasn't a big fan of it, but hey, if you want to save some money, it's not a bad deal!!!

LAST TIME I DID THE SAME AND IT WAS NOT THAT COMFORTABLE . ANYWAY THANKS FOR PUTTING YR CHEAP IDEA. LETS SEE IF I CAN GET SOME OTHERE EXPERIENCE THIS TIME .

If you want to go via DELHI, then go with Continental. I bought one for under 1200 round trip. I am thinking about buying one from DEL to KTM now.
