why does the stomach make funny noises when it's hungry?

Actually it is due to fight between large intestine and small intestine in absence of food in the stomach; whereby the noise travels towards stomach and then you may hear some funny noises. Studies say that it is not a good symptom as it may elicit some dangerous diseased condition like Gastric Ulcer. If the symptom persists more than a week, always adviced to see a doctor (or nurse!!:P).

Funny noises also indicate that your bowels are not clear. The residual food gets decompose in large intestines producing gas. The noises it makes and smell (yew), which every one is very familiar with (naturally) do not need to be explained. So , have plenty of fibrous food and a lot of water and keep your bowels clear.
