An adventurous and record breaking Nepali woman mountaineer, Pemba Doma Sherpa, a permanent resident of Namche-1 of Solukhumbu district met an accidental death while returning after scaling the Mt Lhotse.
According to Chairman of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Angchhiring Sherpa, Pemba Doma was fallen down from a height of about 8,000 metre. However, another climber fallen together sustained injuries.
The dead body of Pemba, who had already climbed up the Mt Everest, will be brought to Namche after three days.
Issuing a press release, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prithvi Subba Gurung today extended heartfelt condolence on behalf of the government to the bereaved family while expressing grief on the demise of the adventurous mountain climber Pemba Doma Sherpa.
