Hi Friends, Is it good to Fly to Nepal via London? I heard that the immigration there is strict and may cause unnecessary trouble. Is that true? And what is the hand carry restriction for the travellers? Please share information if you have any such experiences!

Can any one tell me the hand carry requirements to be met in UK transit? I heard that they don't allow travellers to carry more than a bag in hand? Is that true? If yes what is the weight requirement?

http://www.britainusa.com/visas/articles_show_nt1.asp?i=65025&L1=41000&a=41448 .only one hand carry bag is allowed. no need to have transit visa if you are on a valid student visa and can enter the USA again. well I was on F1 and just came back from a trip to Nepal on Jan 02 thru Jan 22 2007. my route was PHL-LGW-DOH-KTM and same route back. FYI--> LGW= London Gatwick Airport more on the link.

sorry folks, i wrote what i knew. my fren went to Nepal in last dashain with his familyl and told to get VISA in London where they queued for hours and almost missed the plane. They were thinking the misery if they missed the plane since the queue was so long and their time was running out. But at the time they CALLED seniors and children first from different servelet and they got the visa. They also told them they couldn't carry more than one bag. this is what I knew. But, i am sorry if the rules are changed now. GOOD LUCK to the flyer.
