Does anyone knows what happen to our New National Anthem?? Are our SPAM leaders still saluting the dhum of "Sri Maan Ghambir" ...hehehe...or something else?? I wonder how competent our SPAM National leaders are who couldn't come with a National Anthem in one year time and then are talking crap about building a New Nepal....I hope since Maoist are in goverment they will come with some fresh ideas or still salute our old dhun of "Sri Mann Ghambir"...anyone has any clue??

News - New Nepal National anthem:

November 30th, 2006 at 5:38 pm (ramblings)

A new national anthem has been selected today.

No sycophancy and no circumlocution, simple, precise and fine euphemism in it… The simple and singable piece by a poet unheard before seems to be nice.

May be some critics will quibble over other details. May be there were some other songs that are better than this one.

Had I written a song, I would submit it for the selection. If I had submitted, I too would be in the run to emboss the Good Name (lol) in the history. In letters of gold. I did not write so the total numbers of the songs was 1242.

I did not write because I could not. I could not write because I did not try. Very simple. No more bumfuzzling now.

Congratulations to the poet, nom de plume –Vyaakul Maainlaa.

Has this been recorded? If yes, where can I download this?

The suggested National Anthem "Sayau Thunga Phool ka" by Byakul Maila had not been accepted by the cabinet and Nepal Government because as per the Maoist and UML Byakul Maila has praised poems written by King Gyanendra in one of a publication in the past. Thus, due to politial reasons and as per the assumptions of our dear leader that everything associated with King Gyanendra is bad and evil the beautiful poem has not been approved yet. "Sri Mann Gambhir" is still the national anthem of Nepal.

Is there an audio of the anthem or sth? Or can sb write it in english-nepali? I don't have the nepali font on my mac.. and honestly, i don't yet know how though there must be a way to.
