Bender, That's a bittorrent client. You need to look for torrent files and open them with the azureus client. You might be wondering-- where do I look for torrent files? ***********http://thepiratebay.org******** is one of the sites you'd want to start with. It takes a while to learn how bittorrents really work; and once you start feeling comfortable, step up higher to the sites that require memberships and your Seed to Leech ratio! The more you seed, the stronger and steadier you get!! Many of those sites own and operate their own IRC channels and have their so called SHOUTBOX ~~ their LINGO, where you can ask questions and get replies! You'll also get to know a bunch of 'Warez World' people through such IRC channels. Good Luck! ~@~

All right here we go. First test your NAT reachability options. To do so, go to Tools > NAT/Firewall Test and test Incoming TCP Listen Port. Usually the default port works fine. When you get the port ok then everything is fine. If you get NAT Error then you need to go to advaned option. Let us know here what is your situation. Assuming your port was fine, you need to set your trasfer settings. For that go to Options, click on Transfer ( Not on the + sign). Change the KB/s global max upload speed to 10 ( depends upon your connection but 10 is good enough) and Alternate rate to 0. It means that while you are downloading you are letting other people to leech at the rate of 10 KB/s but you are generous enough to upload at maximum speed when you are not downloading anything. Set global max download speed at 0 if it isn't already that. Now you need to assign the default directory for your downloads. Click on Files and you will see that option. Change the location if needed and leave rest as they are. Expand the File menu by clicking on + and you will then click on Torrents. Unmark Save .torrent files. Well you can leave it as it is but you are downloading torrents in different folder anyway. Other settings leave them as they are. Now to download something first you need to download torrent files from torrent sites. There are number of sites you can find online but for the free non-member site http://www.mininova.org is the most popular. There are other private sites like http://www.torrentleech.org , http://www.demonoid.com or for Bollywood http://www.desitorrents.com where you need an invitation from the member to join. So start with mininova. Search for whatever you are looking for. If you find something then look for the SEEDS. The higher number of that, the better your download will be. You will see an option to download the torrent file there. Download that in your computer and when you will run it Azureus will automatically detect it. Then you will notice things happening in Azureus. If the speed is slow, give it some time before it picks it up. Keep on checking the number of seeds and peers. You will notice something like 10(15) in seeds/peers column which means you're connected to 10 seeds/peers of the total number of 15 seeds/peers. If it is 0 then you do the maths.

It usually means that you are behind the firewall. If you are using your school/uni connection, then you can simply forget about using any bittorrent clients as they are blocked for good. If you are using your private connection then try setting the permisson to allow azureus.exe to access the internet and accept the incoming connection in the respective firewall. You can check if your firewall/antivirus is blocking azureus or not by turning the firewall/antivirus and running the azureus. Sometimes Windows XP built-in firewall also blocks azureus. To get rid of it go to Control Panel> Windows Firewall > Exceptions > Add Port Add the exact port number which you have given in Azureus . Then select UDP. You can add any port number from 49125-65535 in azureus. If you are using router then open Azureus go to Tools>Options> Plugins>UPnP and click on to enable UPnP. In the new routers this works most of the time.

You might need to do Port Forwarding to the max download speed.

Bittorrents are supposed to open one of the unused service ports themselves. Mine worked fine without port forwarding -- I could upload and download without a problem, under decent speed! I did get the NAT ERROR warning, which I simply ignored and carried on, till the point when I thought I might as well, and did the PortForwarding, so as to not see that Annoying message each time, and the "Connectable = No" subheading!!! I would suggest you to set '0' on upload and download both, since bandwidth is free through most of the providers (assuming you're in the US). We should also consider the fact that we all are being able to participate in the bittorent community and bag those treasures because of others' contributions!! Let's give what we take .. So SEED SEED and SEED..!!! ~@~

If u've a torrent file, open it up in Azuerus... sometimes Azuerus can show NAT error when there's no seeding available or the torrents source file no longer exists... if u still get NAT error, double click on where it says NAT error.. it should open up a wiki and the tab where u can change the port number... just select anything over 8000 or something like that.. read the webpage that opens up when u click on NAT error on the bottom of the Azuereus... that should fix it... don't try to get too complicated... cuz the tool itself can be setup w/ very complexity and I haven't figured all out myself either.. if u r using wireless router, then u might need to do port forward, but if it's a direct line to cable/dsl, u should be ok w/ the defaul port that's with Azureus... google it.. lots of help there also.... hope it helps.
