Personally, I prefer dial-up. Of course, DSL is cheap but it is slow and cable is fast but it also si expensive. So, dial-up is the way to go(y)

pupiffy, why would u want dial-up against dsl? DSL may be slow compared to cable, but is faster than dial-up. And the price for dial-up and DSL - almost the same.

it depends on your location (east or west). I have verizon dsl for $ 14.95, and it works great. You can't beat the price -- better than some of the dial up price out there. Verizon had this deal with yahoo when I got the package. Check them out if the service is available in your area, and the package options that you have. I'm loving the price and service in my location. Ofcourse you hear different opinions, but definitely worth trying.

Who says Cable is better than DSL??It all depends on speed of your DSL.If u pay $$$ for DSL with 48 Mbps would it be slower than cable???? Cable has its disadvantages too. Best is it doesn't matter DSL or CABLE ...go for service provider which gives you comparative rate for the speed.

because of cell phones, most people don't need a regular phone these days so why pay extra for DSL (with additional regular phone)?

Well you don't need to have regular phone to have DSL.Most of the apartment have Telephone lines right???you can have their service thru the number but not have phone service. Anyways ..in cable there is lot of interference problems but not in DSL. And normal Cable is generally faster than normal DSL.I have DSL and i pay $$ to get 48MBPS i would have got better package deals but i just left it . It is always good to go with package deals..whether DSL or Cable.

I will choose DSL over Dail up, if I already have a land phone line. I saw the comcast add for new costumers which includes phone+cable+Internet for $33 for a year, which is great deal.

33/month is quite a bargain when you can have the internet and cable at the same time! I'm going to google if it is available in my area. Thanks! :)

Sajhafuser, It is $99/month altogether. You will have to get the bundle of cable TV+Internet+digital phone for $33/month per service. I might be wrong, call comcast to make sure.
