There are 27 million people in Nepal. Roughly 27 mi/365 will have their birthday coincide with Gyanendra. Happy birthday to all. It is a great idea to celebrate it as national day, the day when 1/365 of our people were born. But I think we should have some more important day as our national day like proclamation of parliament or might be the constituent assembly election day..

What a bold step this time to scrap off the public holiday.

That said, I do wish Mr. Shah the citizen a long life, so that, having stood trial, he has enough time to write his memoirs, answering questions and mysteries sufficiently that we can close a sad chapter of the country's history as we proceed with building a democratic prosperous Nepal.
