So many nepalese come here in the USA and achive higher education, end up in a gas statation and other tracy jobs.Don't you think the people who holds proffessional jobs should help in building a job networking for other battered fellow nepalese to land in their dream jobs?

Yes there should be job search engine for nepalese. We can look at the examples of indians, they help each other in their community. I think we nepalese also should help each other for those who are capable of doing proffessional jobs. There are thousands of nepalese who have white color job ofcourse they can help.

Nepalese are not united. They're not even ready to offer some advice for new comers. I'm very pessimistic in this regard. However, people at sajha often show solidarity for the good-cause for nepalese here. So, maybe we can start from sajha by creating profiles for successful nepalese at sajha, and also bringing professionals here to answer questions in their area of expertise, and they can also help to post job offers.

It depends upon people. Ya all gotta stop sayiing grapes are sour. First of all, lets start by changing ourself. I agree with ya all regarding the requirements of building up network. It will help us create synergy. However if there are executives who has hiring power, they cannot simply recuit Nepali. This will create a legal peroblems. But certainly individuals could be referred. We need to be proactive. The laid back and shying away attitude that we grew up does not help here in US. If you wanna a job, you gotta take a proactive approach. Take a shotgun approach. Start calling, emails, job-searh engines etc. Calling the offices is a good way of job search. Atleast you know that recuiter is gonna hear what ya gotta say than get ignored. peace out

i will not say there is no networking between nepalis. there is. but there needs to be more. we need to stop group division first and try to unite as people from nepal and not from manag, terai, purwa/paschim or jhapa. i've witnessed many nepalis limited to their own ethnicity even in usa. they will never get of their shell. about graduation and higher education, a lot of nepalis are still not professionally employed even after going to school here. why? because no one will hire them without proper network and reference. why do indians always get hired? network. they won't even stop to fake their resumes and get that job because an insider always tells them what needs to be done. believe me after living in LA and job hunting here, i know how the job market functions in usa. previously i was in the midwest where life was slow and quiet. here its cut throat. with fake resumes, people are making $65k. this is not fair.... just my thoughts!

As midwest implied, "United we stand, divided we fall." Sajha has provided a platform to help each others out. Thanks San Bro. peace out

I am a Nepali in US working as a professional for a big corporate America.. I would love to help Nepalese but as others have mentioned.. Nepalese like leg pulling I only see problems by referreing to another Nepali.. dont get me wrong.. I have had good experience with referring to candidates from another countries than any South asian countries... I guess other Nepalese in similar field would know what I am talking about!
