My name is Bela. I am originally from India and live in the bay area. I am hoping to do some volunteer work in Nepal this summer and am interested in learning Nepalese. I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas for how I might go about doing that. I live in Marin county, about 15-20 minutes away from the city of San Francisco.

find some nepali in your area, if you know how to read /write hindi you'll learn fast the script is basically the same hoever language is quite different unless you know it then you'll find some similarities

If you know Hindi, you may be able to get by pretty easily... except if you're going end up in a remote foothill...
