Dude, Don't buy the Galant. It will be a FANDA on your GALA. There are only 2 cars I wouldn't buy; one is Mitsu Galant and another is Mazda 636. Mazda stopped making 636 bt Mitsu is still making Galant.... GOD!! when are they gonna learn from their mistake and stop making it...sigh Hell! Hunda or a Kia can be better than Galant.

Think about it, dude. Who would sell a 3 year old car with only 50k miles for less than half of it's MSRP when it was new. I bet the CAR cost at least 18K on 2002.

manufactured date is 2002, comes out in around august 2001 that means, it is already 4 years old. so that price is not that low to suspect anything wrong. mileage is good, that car will go at least upto 100k if there is nothing wrong already. so better check with a mechanic. new car is always expensive, that's the diff between new and used. once it's used, even after one month price will drop by several thousands. mitsubishi, by the record, doesn't seem better than honda or toyota but definitely way better than korean cans. I drove one for 4 years without any problem...from 71k to 125k. Once i even drove it from dallas to oklahoma and there was huge power losss. No matter how much i press the gas, it'd pull very slowly. I hate to stop on the side of highway. So i drove all the way to destination and then checked oil....hahaha---there was nothing left... the dip showed me some black powder...imagine that--instead of oil... then i looked at the oil changed date... it was already 7 months with more than 8000miles since the last oil change....nice story huh??? The reason i don't like to drive honda or toyota here in Dallas is because those two brands = dhotis... but everyone has own choice...

Go for Ford Focus or Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, they are all economic car and since the gas price is going up, I guess these will be the right choice for the investment.

leave Dodge neon, focus, kia, hyundai...to others. if u r looking for economical and reliable, get toyota or honda from above list but that Honda has too many miles and high price... Toyota sounds good if u can bargain little bit, price is a bit high.

Harikancha, The Mitshubishi that you mentioned earlier sounds a good deal to me. And my second choice would be Toyota Corolla 2001. Do not buy any other cars listed above. Just a suggestion.

One more thing to notice is Used cars are used cars... There is no guarentee what'll happen. But usually, by the records, honda, toyota, nissans have less number of bad cars than others. That doesn't mean every car from them will be good. One of my friend just bought a honda accord 2 months ago for $6000 used and now A/C went bye bye...1200$ to fix the a/c. Another guy who just came from nepal last year bought a chevy prism 1993 for $600 (less than the cost of replacing my 4 tires), and still is running fine without any problem. I've been driving american cars for last 4 years and haven't dealt with any major repairs yet. What i mean is, used car has huge risk. So its better to go with those brands that have less risk, but if u r unlucky, you may fall into 20% of bad used cars of nice brands and if u r lucky, u'll fall into 20% good used cars of bad brands... Best of luck Yes that Galant sounds good deal as well...

Harikancha, Not than I am a car expert, but I hope my personal experience and advice will be of some help to you. I was myself in the used car market a few months ago and was initially considering the Gallant as well. My other options were Camry, Accord, Altima, and Mazda 626. The model year range I considered was between 2000 and 2003. After extensive web research, I ruled out the Gallant for the following reasons: 1. higher insurance costs (about 30% more than Accord and Camry, 20% more than Altima, and similar to the Mazda as quoted by my insurance company..all for 2002 basic models) 2. higher depreciation costs 3. reviews suggested known issues with brakes Also, test driving the other three vehicles (I didn't drive the Mazda) was a much more pleasant experience. I ended up buying an Accord :) You may want to do some extensive research at www.edmunds.com and autos.msn.com Be sure to check out the TMV (True Market Value) and True Cost of Ownership at Edmunds. Don't pay over the TMV amount. Aba tapai le list garnu bhaeko gaadi haru heru hai: Despite of the low mileage and price, I would rule out the 98 Accent, or any pre-2000 Korean vehicle for that matter. I would consider the other Korean cars ONLY IF the 10 yr/100K warranty is transferable. I never considered buying American vehicles but personally, bahira bata herda Neon ta jhur dekhincha, the Focus looks pretty cool though. As for other factors, web research garnu hola :) All that said, I would go for the Corolla or Civic. As a Corolla owner of over 7 yrs, I can highly recommend it. It has been running virtually flawlessly even though it is approaching 153K now (bought a 96 model with 44K). The Civic also is probably of comparable quality. The one you listed sounds a bit pricey though, be sure to research on the price. Also if upto 12-13K is within your budget, you may want to consider certified used vehicles as well. Last but not least, I must second with Neupaneji. "Used cars are used cars... There is no guarentee what'll happen. But usually, by the records, honda, toyota, nissans have less number of bad cars than others. That doesn't mean every car from them will be good." Good luck with your vehicle search. Neupaneji, ani tetro laamo samma oil change nagari chalaidinay bhanya :) On another note, tapai le post garnu bhaeko photo haru sarai ramra chan hai..looking forward to more.

he he chipledunga thank you for comments... actually that time that mitsubishi was second car just used for work and long drives as it was older and used less gas. So not caring that much i guess, or just considering not important... :-) ******************************************************** harikancha, also do some search in autotrader.com, cars.com etc... along with ur local papers, and try to buy from individuals. It'll be a lot cheaper than dealer but don't forget to have a mechanic look at it.

I have Hyundai Elantra GLS 4 Dr Sedan 2004. It's very good. I drove 25,000 miles in 1 and 1/2 years - east coast to west coast, southern valley to northern mountain tops, driver only to 2500 lbs of weight. Heck! I sound like a professional truck driver. Never mind. I love my Hyundai for the amount I paid out of my 18K assistantship as graduate student. I never had any problem. I recommend it for general use for those who need budget cars. But why would you buy a used Elatra GLS for $10,000 that too has 41K? Worthless! I got it brand new for $12,680. It cost me only $13,200 after all taxes and title fees. Anyway, you could be in entirely different market than I am.
