Any link to some free dvd player softwares would be appreciated.
Are there any free movie websites? I think many moths ago there was a link to some free online movie websites. Thank you.

try cyberlink power dvd.

Its not free, but if you can find a free copy try to get a littler older release and find a crack.

What are you trying to do? Play 2 DVDs at the same time? If u have 2 drives in your computer...say D and E BOTH are CD drives, and you're trying to play both? If u're trying to do that then the other ROM drive must be just a ROM drive, not a DVD-ROM drive.

Or, if you're asking why does ONE DVD plays in the drive, and u take that out from dirve D and put another DVD in it and says no DVD in the drive, then its not the software or the hardware, its the DVD's fault. whether it was not burned proplerly or it could be corrupted. i believe that happens to some nepali Movie DVD and some Indian Movie DVDs.

im not sure what you was asking, i answered what i figured.

"Or, if you're asking why does ONE DVD plays in the drive, and u take that out from dirve D and put another DVD in it and says no DVD in the drive.."

Redstone, that is what's happening.
In powerdvd is says "No disk in D:" and in windows media player and real player there are no responses whatsoever.

What i do not understand is, why it plays one dvd but not other.Auta matra chlcha bakee chldaeena. How is that? Are there other dvd downloads and softwares that can solve this? your help is appreciated.

But it only played the one which was in the d: when i downloaded the softwares.
Yes redstone, only one dvd works and other is not even recognized. No disk in the drive bancha. I have real player, media player and this powerdvd, all of which were supposed to play dvds. It does, but only one dvd and i tried others and it does not. What could be the problem? Please help.

DVD corrupted and then how is it playing other DVDs? if thats what you're asking, then you got me wrong. I am saying your DVD is corrupted, the DISC itself, not the DVD PLAYER or DVD drive. how many drives do you have for CDs? you are saying "...only played the one which was in the d: when i downloaded the softwares..." means you are trying to play DVD from a different drive. If u are then that drive could not be DVD ROM drive.

You are not explaining the problem properly or i can't understand. If you're trying to play a DVD from a NON DVD -ROM drive, then its not gonna play anything. put more DVDs in your D: drive and see if it works. if not, then your DVD is corrupted, not the DVD drive. If none of the DVD plays in the computer, take it to a DVD player, a unit. then see if it plays, if it does, then you need to replace your DVD Drive.!

Unfortunately there is not a single DVD decoder for PC for free. All of the available ones are trial versions. Nvidia offers 30 day trial version.

Redstone maybe I confused you. I'll try to be more clear.I have three softwares that should play dvd. Media player, Real player and Powerdvd.
But it only plays one dvd. When I take out that dvd and put another dvd, it says "no disk in d:"

If my dvd player which was at fault, it should not play any dvd. But it does play one. Why it says no disk in drive when i change to another dvd from the same drive. ( I have only one dvd player in my pc). It seems that my dvds in my d: is not recognized by any of the softwares when i change that one dvd that works.

Auta dvd chalcha ra aru change garda no disk bhancha. Kina hola.

audacious,
heard that there exists only 90% compatibility between the two standards of DVD- and DVD+ formats. Not sure but as i have heard, FYI, one is from apple allies and the other from PC allies. DVD- is supposed to be better compatible than DVD+.

just my 2 cents

one more note, ( a chinese guy gave me a dvd and suggested me to play it only in laptop, usaile bhaneko hai, i dont know how true it is) if its an original movie (this is not applicable to unencrypted and data dvds alike) and u r using just the hardware "standalone dvd player", there is some kind of zonal division of the world as to which disks are "playable". in canada (must be in the US, for sure) it is labeled "1" and for china it is "6" arey, a chinese friend told me. dunno for nepal though, should be same as we are so much in the influence of khasa bazaar. this number is clearly printed in the cover in original movies. In laptops, they ship with universal player hardware that play in all of these zones. my guess... in branded desktop computers like dell and hp, in some machines, they might have needed the zonal thing...this part just a speculation hai.

username, thats true what you said but all DVD come with full zone compliant, they play DVDs from all over the world. DELL or HP don't matter. I have dell system. pretty good one.

as for aud!
if the software says no DVD in DVD drive, the cases might be
1. You're using DVD that is corrupted ordamaged
2. The DVD must be not original, pirated?
3. was it burned DVD? DVD-R or DVD+R creates problem like username stated

Your computer knows that D: is your dvd drive or else it would not play the dvd that you could play. try updating the software, by going to your computer's website, and find downloads support and update. rare case, but might work.
how many DVDs have you tried playing? try 5-6 at least and if none plays, then GET A NEW SYSTEM.. DUDE YOU'RE GETTING DELL. :P jk
